Trey runs away from the youth reserve, sure he’s no more than spare parts for a father he barely remembers. The Council of Elders has its own questions about the him. When Trey find the Underground and joins the fight to give rights back to the Youngers, he starts a chain of events beyond anyone’s control.

Generation Gap

"Stopped? There is usually some time between deaths. It hasn't been long."


"There are indications the killings were the work of a group operating across the country. You've said so yourself. Some deaths occurred in different jurisdictions virtually simultaneously. They've stopped."


"All of them?" Joe leaned back to think. "If we could find out if the killers were being manipulated to some end, I'm sure they could draw the same conclusions. I would very much doubt a rebellion would appreciate being used as an assassination squad for an unknown group."


"You seem pretty sure about the rebellion." Devon was almost balanced on his toes as if the conversation led to uncomfortable ideas.


"There have always been people who didn't like the way things are. I suspect lately the dissatisfaction has become organized. The Child Crime Murders may have been a way to try to force change without resorting to open warfare." Joe dropped back into his chair.
