Chapter 71: Evil Has A Face, Part 3

Trey dragged himself to his feet and felt Lizzy pass him a knife. He straddled Lizzy and eyed the Molloy in front of him.

"My father wanted a son to love, not to become a monster."

Red gasped behind him, she was in trouble. He swiveled and saw the last Molloy, finally silent, his hands around Red's neck. She was punching his face, with no effect. Trey hurled the knife at the Molloy, but it hit flat and dropped to the floor.

"Watch out," Lizzy rasped a warning from below him.

Trey stepped backward inside the blow. He grabbed the baton-wielding Molloy's arm and pivoted adding momentum to the blow, then twisted away. The Molloy staggered back and Trey's kick registered square in the chest. It was just enough to send him back against the bed. He tried to catch himself, but the baton touched the bed rail. The arc of electricity blinded Trey for a second, and he staggered back, tripping over Lizzy. The Molloy fell twitching the floor.
