"I'd heard from relatives and friends that Mother was getting unstable, but you were already in the hospital by the time I got there. She was furious that I wanted to take you away. In the end, I bought you, the same way my husband bought me."
"So that money I sent to her..." Pranthi put the cup down and sloshed tea across the table.
"Was the gift of a loving daughter and sister. I made a one-time payment which caused the only serious fight my husband and I ever had."
"There's no hope for brother?"
"I don't know. I'm trying to find a way to go and look for him myself, but I need to know you will be okay before I go."
"I don't know if I'll ever be okay again." Pranthi started shaking.
Her sister came around and hugged her and dried her tears.
"I can wait, if you need me too."
"No, I need you to find him, tell him I love him."

Pranthi stayed in her wheelchair to see her sister out of the building. When the elevator opened, a new concierge came over to her.
