Chapter 73: Sparkes and Blood – Bloody Battle, Part 3

He walked through the carnage and kept hunting. His nose was adjusting to the funk of death in the air. Martin thought he smelled pine trees. If he did then he needed to get the last four vampires before sunset. He had no idea how long he'd been down here. When he looked at his watch it had been smashed. Martin dropped it on the floor.

The air was definitely changing. Martin picked up his step. The tunnel widened, and the ceiling stretched up. He could see a faint grey light high above him.

Three vampires burst from the loose dirt in the floor as the fourth dropped from a ledge above him. Martin fired the tommy shotgun for the first time and blew a hole through one of the three on the floor. He shifted to the side to avoid the falling attacker and rolled under the attack of the faster of the two remaining on the floor. He flicked the switch to full auto and took aim at the vampires. He was never going to get a better chance.
