Odo didn't recognise the man who spoke, and as he couldn't think of a response, he chose not to say anything.
The man moved so the light from the open door shone on his face. Odo recognised him at once. This was the same man he'd helped some time ago during the winter, when his wagon lost a wheel.
"How is your arm, and Ivy?" Odo asked, wondering why this man came to see him.
The man nodded. "She has a bad scar, but otherwise she is well and thanks to you, fortunate to be alive. My shoulder and arm still give me pain at times," he unconsciously flexed his shoulder a little.
"Who are ye? I never learned yer name."
"I am Steward Baldric Bigge from Ridgley Manor."
Odo had no idea. He was surprised at the revelation. "Ye are an important man."
Steward Baldric shrugged. "Perhaps to some."
Both men stood in silence for a moment.
