Chapter 65

The Templar commander glanced quickly at his associate. As Bishop Immers observed, the knight at the door stepped towards his commander and conferred in hushed tones before returning to his station.

"That is unfortunate." Sir William nodded and looked thoughtful for a moment before continuing. "And where would his possessions be? Where could we find them?" He took a small step closer to the bishop.

To Bishop Immers, the step was an implied threat. "It appears that good fortune smiles upon the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ this day, I have all his belongings here where they are to be destroyed."

"Show us, take us to them. Now." For the first time, Sir William expressed some excitement. He again turned to the knight at the door, the eye contact and affirmation an indication to the Bishop that whatever these men sought was very, very important.
