Chapter 66

The Templar Knight took a step away in frustration. If the bishop only knew that what the pyxis contained and how it was the last single piece, one of many, that would lead them to the ultimate... He couldn't share that with the bishop because this was Templar business, their responsibility, it was solely their métier. Nothing would stop them from fulfilling their mission. Nothing.

He stepped back to the repugnant man. "We will wait two days, ye have two days to deliver the pyxis, Bishop Immers," said Sir William. "We will take advantage of yer hospitality and remain here at the cathedral. Please have someone show us where we can rest."

The relief was almost overwhelming. "It is my honour to have ye as my guests, and I will see that ye are well taken care of," offered Immers. It would now suit him to keep the Templars here for as long as possible as he'd already formulated another plan.
