Odo was ravenous and Charlotte was spoon feeding him a broth made by Mother Rosa. He'd woken from his sleep a short while ago and seemed no worse for his injury other than some minor burns and a very sore head. Overjoyed, Charlotte couldn't stop jabbering and told Odo all that happened while he slept. 


The news of the Templar visit came as a surprise and he wasn't convinced he would give them the pyxis if they ever found it. When the reeve came to visit, the conversation turned to cows.


"All cattle have been culled, Odo," informed the reeve when Odo asked.


His despair was hard to conceal as the reeve detailed how all of Sir Gweir's cows were slaughtered and incinerated. "Then Mellester has no cows?" Odo asked seeking confirmation.


"None," agreed the reeve. "Nor other farms around Mellester as well."


"Cathal says we can put cows back on the land after the equinox, Odo," Charlotte volunteered, hoping to lift his spirits with some good news.
