"Oswald wanted Odo to have it because he knew the value of it and he trusted Odo to make the right decision over it."

"Perhaps, Charlotte. I would need to hear the letter read again," Odo suggested.

"Aye, Odo, if we had it."

Sir William cleared his throat. "When we find the pyxis we will return it to ye, I give ye my word on this. I ask ye in the name of the Church and the holy spirit that you allow us to keep it." He looked closely at Odo. "We, the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and the Order of the Temple of Solomon will offer ye a reward fer the pyxis. I expect this may also provide ye with some help with the problem ye have with yer cows."

Odo's face clouded over. "I will think on this, but for now it is for nought, for ye do not have it and I know not where it is."
