After introductions were made, Odo recounted his ordeal in Taunton and then he told of their experience at the Templar Preceptory. He did not tell the steward how much coin the Templars gifted him. Steward Alard listened attentively and shook his head.  "I thank ye, Jagger. Odo needs looking after, he has a way of attracting trouble, and I can only hope ye will keep him and Charlotte safe."


"Where is Reeve Petrus? Daniel says no one has seen him?"


"I know not where he is." Steward Alard shook his head. "I confess, I am beginning to worry, for he has not sent word."


Jagger's head whipped around to stare at Odo.


"Well, yer see, Odo, Cathal went to Ridgley Manor to tend to Sir Hyde, but Steward Baldric tells me after Sir Hyde became stable, Cathal disappeared. So both Cathal and the reeve are missing."
