Chapter 153

When Odo and his group arrived back in Geestendorf, he was pleased to see Fyt, along with Herdsman Searl and Usher, had already departed with a shipload of cows for Exmouth near Exeter. Already, the last remaining cows and food were being herded aboard Gys's koggership which was now tied alongside the small pier. Hilke's ship was still in the bay and would be loaded with all the horses once Gys's ship had moved to make room.

Odo was shaken, his throat was still sore and Charlotte was distraught. They both knew that fortune had smiled briefly on them and they were lucky, but the day was not over yet. If they had any questions about the loyalty of Jagger, today's event dispelled that doubt. He had proved himself yet again.
