“What about Elias? “ James asked.

Cain sighed, and Sophie looked at the faces of the people in the room. They all looked very serious.

“I’m taking care of it,” Cain finally said. ”I don’t think there is any choice.”

“I don’t think Elias would talk,” Ken objected. “Surely that’s not in his interest. After obtaining the information they want, why would they let him live?”

“You're right, but the risk is far too great. He endangers all of us.”

“But Elias...”

“Sure, let’s do nothing, like when he decided to leave on his own,” Gregor said grimly. “I mean, it went splendidly, right? Nothing alarming like, I don’t know, an arrest, or risking that he spills out everything about us.”

Cain nodded. ”I think you're right. We will not make the same mistake again. As to the evacuation...”

“You said you would do anything to get her out of there,” James interrupted him, his voice full of repressed anger. “You said you would intercept the van after the arrest...”
