Guilt.

It was now a week and Rose hadn't returned home. Arthur grew colder and colder every passing day.

"He's returning to his cold self and causing havoc in the company like the last time Rose was in a coma " Sean argued.

"Let him take a rest at work or convince him to work from home," Irene said.

"The last time I did that he ignored me for two days " Sean frowned.

"Should I tell Alex to talk to him " Irene passed Sean a glass of water.

"It would not make a difference the only solution is Rose coming back or Arthur is turning into something I don't understand anymore " Sean took his water.

Irene sighed, " She told me she still needs time "

"Let her call him just once maybe it would make a difference " she suggested.

Rose was in the kitchen helping the housekeeper make dinner for the two men before they arrived from work.

Little Arthur was playing with the cat again.

They could hear its screams for help as Arthur pulled it around.

The last dish was almost done when she heard Justin call her name.

"In the kitchen " she shouted.

"Where is grandfather?" she asked.

"Rescuing his cat from your son " Justin laughed.

They had dinner and soon they were chatting in the living room after.

Justin was telling his sister his day at work while her grandfather rocked Little Arthur to sleep.

It had become her daily routine since she came to her grandfather's. Listen to the two men talk after they finished dinner. She spent the day with her son around the house or moving around.

She had visited all the places her mother grew up in and talked to all her relatives.

The first time she was so happy to meet them as they all showered her with love but with time Rose got bored of it and decided to do d excuses not to see them.

"Your aunt told me you have been avoiding her, " her grandfather said.

"Just been busy with other things " Rose lied.

"Busy hiding from her " Justin laughed.

Rose got up and slowly took her son from her grandfather's arms.

"It's late and you both have to get to work tomorrow morning, so good night," she said rushing to getaway.

She placed her son in his bed covered him. His face was the small version of Arthur's face. Whenever he smiled it was the same smiling face as his father's.

She missed him and she knew that but her guilt haunted her. She had left him in his worse time, yes she was confused but Arthur must have been lost.

She wanted to return home run into his arms and apologize but she held back. Would he take her back? He had not called her since she left.

Rose decided to lay beside her son.

"Does he miss me at all?" she whispered.

Irene had told her how Arthur had drowned himself in work and was torturing the company workers.

She smiled and remembered the look on their face when she returned to the company after waking up from the coma. But then she tried running away trying to take a different course. The modeling chaos made her realize she belonged with Arthur.

She kissed her son's and walked out.

She walked to her balcony window and dialed his number.

She patiently waited as it went through.

"Hello, Rose," a voice said.

Rose was surprised to hear a voice different from Arthur. She looked at the contact it was her husband's number.

"Who is this?" she asked.

"It's me Rose, Samuel Vanita's father " the voice answered.

"Why do you have my husband 's phone?" she asked.

"Arthur is drunk and am taking him home," he said.

Rose froze why was Arthur with Samuel of all people. What was Sean doing and why would Samuel be there?

"Can I talk to him?"

"Am sorry Rose but Arthur can't even open his eyes right now. Maybe when he wakes up tomorrow morning " Samuel said.

She didn't feel good about Samuel being with Arthur. They all knew how he liked Arthur that he stole a kiss from him. Won't he take advantage of his drunken state and...

"No " she shouted.

"Am calling Sean to pick him up where you are just stay there " she said.

There was silence then, " Okay tell him to come to this bar," Samuel said as he told her the bar name.

Rose hung up and called Sean telling him to go pick up Arthur.

"Am turning into his babysitter" Sean grumbled as he got out of bed.

Rose held her phone as she waited for Sean's call.

When it did ring she picked up immediately.

"I got him but he's dead drunk. Dorothy is getting him comfortable in bed " Sean said.

"Thank you, Sean," she said.

"Okay, you can go to sleep now. Arthur is safe now "

Rose hung up and sighed.

They shouldn't be taking care of Arthur it's my responsibility but am hiding away. Rose thought.

She closed her eyes an image of Arthur laying beside her appeared.

She smiled but realizing he wasn't there she opened them.

Rose stayed awake till dawn as she held her phone.

Dorothy finally called. Waking her up from her thoughts.

"Is he awake?" she asked.

"Yes, he is, " Dorothy said.

Rose hung up and called Arthur. But no one replied.

The more it rang the more her tears formed in her eyes.

"Does he hate me now " she cried as her hand holding the phone slid down from her ear. She hung up.

She hid in her room the whole day, Justin, her grandfather, and the rest were all worried about her.

Justin had attempted to cheer her up but he was chased out of her room. Even little Arthur ended up crying when his mother ignored him.

She held her phone praying he would call back but he never did. She felt scared and guilty for causing all this mess.

"I should not have left him " she cried.
