" Laughter "

Rose came every day to the hospital until Irene was discharged. The doctor told her to rest for a few more weeks before she went back to work.

Heading back home Sean got a call from his father. He had been visiting when he could which made Irene and Sean happy. They never asked about his mother not talk about her.

"We are heading home now," he told his father through the phone.

"Okay see you there," he said.

Irene had dozed off in the back seat. Sean drove in silence until he reached home. Without telling Irene he had transferred all her thing and he's back into his mansion. He wanted to take care of her in a special way but her place was small so he decided to return to his.

Gently he carried her inside the house up the stairs inside his room. He laid her in bed and covered her. His father who had arrived a few minutes before them carried her stuff inside the house.

They decided to cook something for her to eat when she wakes up. Sean had taken long without cooking together with his father. Soon the kitchen was filled with noise and the smell of cooking. They chatted as they cooked.

"I know you don't want to hear about her but she requested if she could come and see Irene?" his father asked.

"Dad, after what mom has done to Irene, I can't even let her get an inch close to her "

"I think after that last night, she learned her lesson and wants to apologize. She's been begging me to convince you " his father added.

Sean didn't answer and continued cooking, his father decided to drop the subject and enjoy the time with his son.

"So what does your future wife mostly like to eat?" he asked.

"As you can see we are making everything. Irene likes everything as long as it delicious " he smiled.

"I know a bit but how did you exactly meet and fall in love?" asked his father.

Sean smiled thinking about it, "I remember Arthur had told me he was taking Rose away for a trip and her friend and Sister were joining "

He had finished his meeting and work so he could hurry and go meet them. He had arrived a bit late so he found them around a fireplace barbecue.

"So I walk in and that's was when he saw her, she was smiling just seeing her best friend smile. But then got on her bad side when I ate her meat " he laughed.

"That smile never left my mind, but then in the night she sleepwalked into my room and forced me to sleep next to her " he explained.

His father laughed listening to his son.

"We were both embarrassed in the morning when she screamed bloody Mary after she found me next to her in bed "

They both burst out and laughed just thinking about it.

"Does she still do that, sleepwalk?" his father asked.

"After we started dating, she never sleeper walked again. And it is not because it's cured but because I hold her tightly all night " Sean laughed.

Irene woke up in a strange bed that looked familiar. she looked around and realized it was Sean's place. Still, in pain from the surgery, Irene gently and slowly got out of bed. Grabbing Sean's jacket she draped it around her body and walked out of the room.

She could hear the laughter of two men from downstairs. She walked down the stairs to where the sound was from finding Sean and his father making the table. They were laughing about something. She stood there and listened to what they were saying.

"Dad I tell you don't be received by her angel face, Irene is a bully I have been enduring it all this time. She hits me all the time and sometimes even kicks me " he told his father.

"That a lie my sweet angel can't do that " his father objected.

"Dad don't be persuaded by his nonsense " Ire e said.

Both Sean and his father turned to see her standing there watching them. Sean ran to her giving her support. He had noticed her hand was placed where the surgery had been performed.

"Why are you spreading false rumors about me?" Irene pushed Sean's head.

"I wasn't...you had wrong " he immediately denied

His father laughed at them joining the table.

"How are you my dear?" he asked Irene.

"Am doing much better " she smiled at him.

He smiled back but noticed that her smile showed hidden pain.

Sean served them the meal and they enjoyed it together.

His father left after helping him wash the dishes. Irene had offered to do it since they cooked but was instantly placed in the living room to watch TV.

Sean joined her later after he was done. They laid in the living room watching TV in silence.

"Why did you bring me back here?" she asked.

"I want you safe and protected and most of all your soon going to be my wife so it's appropriate," he said.

"Your wife...." Irene repeated.

"Yes," Sean answered.

"I don't know if I can be that anymore," she said.

Sean got up and turned to her, she had decided to avoid his gaze looking down. He gently pulled her head towards his, "What do mean you can be anymore?" he asked.
