Calhams face was flushed with excitement and anticipation, even a trickle of drool had begun in the corner of his mouth. Though he would love to have his hands on all that vast technology, for the safety of the human race, it was best to be destroyed. The actual planet would recover quickly from the fallout, as the Septens had brilliant solutions of cleaning up harmful radioactivity. His dream of inhabiting a planet with humans and their allies could actually happen in his lifetime. So little was known about the enemy, he deliberately downplayed his confidence, and would not share this with his underlings.
If they were successful, the President would shake his hand. If they were not he did not want to think about the consequences.
