She gazed up into his warm, handsome eyes. So different than a few hours earlier. No nausea, drugs or booze was going to hold her back. She had to know, had to hear it from his mouth. It would either kill her or elate her. Nevertheless, she had to know.

“Talokta…I need to know….”

“I hate to break this up between you two, but I have some unfinished business that needs attending.”

They whirled around. Farlour was standing behind them pointing a spitting Gloctol at them.

Talokta was not surprised, but angry with himself for not sensing or anticipating his enemies move. His damn emotions stunted his warrior instincts. Business can never mix with pleasure.

“Don’t worry, Lord Talokta— Montava and Chotar are brilliant warriors. In fact I’d love them on my team. However, I am pretty good at sneaking around, your training is very good my man! Don’t forget you are on my turf.”

He took in Talokta’s expression and smirked, “So how long did you know Talokta?”

“Long enough Farlour.”
