Chapter 263: Innocence's End Part 3

Kalvich grabbed Leah’s upper arm and dragged them both towards the dungeons. He totally released her blanketed memory which flooded back full force and she relived Sidonio dying in the throne room. She too felt a constriction around her throat, her mind and her body. Why had Cemel never prepared her? He knew about this monster and never warned her! Cemel’s occasional lessons in exercising her mind power seemed weak, a waste compared to what she was facing now. Morbidly she wondered why he had never given her—what? Advanced training against evil? She laughed mirthlessly at that thought, and knew she was heading on the road to insanity.

She numbly observed Kalvich’s other hand still ‘holding’ an invisible lead connected to the Alchemist who was being dragged three feet behind them, gasping and choking at the unseen force around his throat. One time he lost his balance and fell to his knees, Kalvich with a curl of his finger brought the choking man instantly to his feet.
