Chapter 268: Incurable Disease Part 1

Suddenly his mind was thrust back to the present. The reality of his situation kicked out his memories of a past that existed so long ago. Now he was back with his broken heart.

For Kalvich, the pain those memories invoked was unbearable, worse—uncontrollable. He had to keep busy and avoid the times alone in his private quarters. The guards must have heard him and his soliloquy, but he did not care.

Now he was finding out just what kind of disease love could be once he opened his heart and had it ripped away. So this is one reason why Zakaroid and his circle desired mortality so much—at least once you are dead you cannot suffer this crushing pain. There were times he wanted to bring the old God back and strike him down again and again. The pain in his heart was so great. Pain was an old acquaintance that he could control, but this was a pain he had never experienced.
