Leah laid back, and fell asleep.

When she woke, Kalvich, alone, was sitting by her bed. It was dark outside.

His face lit up when he saw her eyes open, and he stroked her hair gently.

“Hey,” she said softly. “How long have I been asleep?”

“Around six hours, and the doctor has assured me you will be okay, only a mild concussion.”

“Wow—six hours, good drugs eh. Of course, I’d be okay. Only had a little bump on the head, I can fix that, don’t know why all the fuss.”

“I’ll be frank with you. The doctor has advised that your pregnancy has made certain changes to your body. Unexpected changes, perhaps including why you are, as Lord Talokta reported—more clumsy.”
