Being super doesn't come with a training manual.

No.3 plucked me out of my wheelchair and securely strapped me into a three point harness before I could even think to fight, not that I could have struggled much. He ignored me and left me there, carrying my folded chair out with him. I gaped, unable to breathe or think, watching him exit and approach a white-coated man who turned when No.3 spoke to him.

I knew that scientist. "Dad!"

He glanced at me and I felt a shudder of cold drive through my stomach. It was like he didn't see me at all.

Abigail was so happy to see we were okay when we got back she waited a whole five minutes to ask me why I was naked.


Then it took about an hour to get her calm enough not to march up to the general and punch him in the face.


I changed my clothes. Abigail allowed me that much before she freaked out. She left me alone when my stomach made its needs known so I could retreat to the mess and refuel. The battle left us all with a massive appetite because I wasn't the only one scarfing everything in sight.


"Now what?" Elle slid close to me so her voice wouldn't carry. Not that the other three were interested much in what we had to say. They were going on in loud, rude voices about how they kicked ass when we all knew it was the complete opposite.


"We watch them," I said. "I don't trust Billy to keep obeying orders forever, do you?"


Tosh's eyes widened as he chewed an excessive mouthful, swallowing in a huge gulp.
