Chapter 37: Samael's Daughter

Yes, I was Chaos. Yes, I now knew I was this all powerful being who had been stuffed away, out of sight, at the beginning of Creation. Yes, I remained well aware the incredible, boundless and volatile energy I controlled-as it tried its best to control me back-meant I was one of the most powerful people in all of Creation.

But, you know what? I was still Samael's daughter, still sixteen, going on seventeen, in mortal realm years. And there were times, like right now, all I wanted was for my dad to hug me.

He did, tightly, with great love in his aura, filling the emotive field that was the outline of Chaos with all the joy he felt at seeing me again. I clung to him and did my best not to cry, though he'd never judge me for the few wet drops that stained the shoulder of his black t-shirt.

My dad was awesome like that.

"My sweet Eve," he whispered into my messy curls. "I've missed you."
