Try though I did over the next several, tense hours, I couldn't reach my dad. I left my throne and retreated to see if I could uncover what was going on. No amount of prodding the private door to Death or fuming or worrying did anything to help, either. The entry to his personal space had sealed itself against me, leaving me without any options and, as I wound myself up tighter and tighter alone in my head and my back quarters, I finally snapped.

I didn't have Chaos to blame, either. This crack down the middle was all mine. Sure, she was happy to feed it once the fault line appeared, but my fears for Dad had nothing to do with the swirling, cranky mist waiting for me to do something already.
