Chapter 78: Perceived Perfection

The Crosspath welcomed me as it always did, quiet and watchful and calm. I turned as I exited my doorway, the mist clinging to me as if reluctant to let me go, and headed for the corridor that led to the religious Pantheon portals. I loved the simplicity of the Crosspath's organization, mimicked in many ways by the Repository. How religions created by the mortals were grouped like a file folder down one arm, technology and science belief Pantheons down another. Fairy tales, belief systems, all segregated and sorted according to the Crosspath's unique filing system. Simple, straight forward and truly brilliant.

And yet, now I knew, now I saw, I couldn't unsee. Just how perfect it could really be.
