Chapter 82: Gates Of Heaven

I hated second guessing myself or my father but fell into that trap deeper and deeper all the way to the door to Heaven. Maybe if we'd stumbled across Seth or Lilith or Mafdel, one of them could have convinced me to stop, to turn back and say no to my father. But none of them appeared, as if the choice I made triggered Destiny after all and she held anyone who could change my mind at bay.

What was so wrong about going to see the Angels? I fretted over the question while Dad led the way, dragging my feet as I followed him. Even the Crosspath felt slightly off, as if it held its breath, waiting to see what would happen. I envisioned stepping through the doorway and into Dad's home realm, triggering instant destruction of all Creation with just a simple sneaker tread.
