Chapter 98: Work Smarter

I could have waited a long time for a response, but chose, instead, to try to figure it out on my own. Exactly what Destiny wanted me to do, naturally. I was learning her ways, if through trial and error, fairly certain her hints and clues were far more specific than they appeared if I just used the so-called brilliance Seth seemed to think I possessed to work out her riddles. I decided if following her direct or indirect orders made her happy, well I guess I just had to keep trudging onward and do my best to clean up after myself.

Chaos fell silent, listening, pondering. Was she sorting out the way to go, too? It certainly felt that way. Maybe I was a good influence on her, as much as she was on me. No matter, I hugged her to me as I shrugged and offered Seth and Mafdel a crooked smile.

"I feel like we've been chasing the trail of a very reluctant dragon," I said. Winced. "Sorry, Seth."
