Chapter 99: Gaea

The humidity of a thick, misty jungle embraced me on the other side of the door, not the heavy, breath stealing heat of the lava realm I'd left not so long ago but the cloying, vegetative weight of overabundant Life fighting for oxygen and moisture. It felt ancient, as made sense, though the fact this realm stood at the head of the oldest arm told me it wasn't dawn of Time stuff or anything. Or was it? For all I knew, the darkness of the corridor meant only the strongest realms still survived and that the doors themselves had shuffled their way forward, those remaining viable and able to open taking the lead.

Speculation, something that would require leaving this realm to uncover and I didn't have time for that. Just in case, as I feared, this place breathed its last, I needed to find the Ogdoad member and retrieve what I came for before that happened.
