Katreena had to ride alone back to her village with a steed gifted to her by her Uncle. The road seemed cold, like a late autumn day rather than the summer day that it was. Everything was still as if all life was in hiding. Occasionally, a bird could be heard squawking in the distance or a Grickly Cat screeching. They were all sounds of pain and fear, making the pit in her gut grow and the strain in her neck tighten.
The steed came to a stop and Katreena, who was lost in her thoughts, looked around wondering why. To her surprise, she was near the entrance to the cave that led to the hidden cottage. Her mind had been thinking of her husband and wondering what he might be finding. "I must have guided you here without thinking," she said to the beast, patting her on the head. Dismounting, she secured the bridle to a tree branch and pushed her way through the overgrown brush to the entrance.
