Chapter 38: Dust Skeevies

She's on her feet and running toward the landers as the massive creatures, called by her transmitter, create exactly the kind of distraction she's been hoping for. Wincing but prideful of her success, she observes the silent descent of what looks like fifty or so beasts the size of the transports disgorging passengers in the narrow valley below. Didi leaps over the brow of the small hill and races as fast as her heavy boots will carry her toward the shack and her target as the mass of creatures wheel and dive.
