Chapter 80: Princess Didi

"Now then," Emily says, cheerful and youthful sounding despite her advanced age. "Let's get you out of that horrendous outfit and into the bath."

Didi's only had access to one bath in her life and it was recently. She still recalls the Oasis with faintly fond memories, though its ruler she can't ponder without painting the entire experience with an unhappy brush. Maybe if Elian Flinn hadn't sold her to Captain Atlas, or if he hadn't been total stark howling bonkers, or even if he'd not tried to force her to marry him after attempting to enhance her with a cyborg virus, she might have been able to shake off the animosity she clings to like a blanket.

The servants make Didi nervous and her grandmother seems to realize it. She shoos everyone out, guiding Didi personally to the interior door deep in her closet that's bigger than the hold of the Solange and to a large bathroom.
