Dear Dad, It's even colder this morning and the sky is really dark. If we were at home I would think it was going to snow, but they don't know what snow is here. Can you imagine that? They've never seen snow. Brother Raston came back, and Barsta came with him. It's funny, when Barsta is around, Stone holds my hand the whole time. Brother Raston thinks he heard of snow in the mountains.
The food was cold this morning because there was no firewood left, but they wouldn't let Barsta and the others go find more. It's too dangerous. He was all mad, but I told him I would rather eat cold gruel than have his head chopped off. I think Stone and Barsta would be friends if Stone wasn't so worried I'll like Barsta better than him. As if. I haven't told him though. I like holding his hand.
