Chapter 105

The insistent pounding on the door caused Eleanor to look up in alarm.

"Who could that be?" she asked, putting her knitting on the floor.

Andrew rose from his chair and peered behind the curtains. "It's Isaac!"

He quickly ran down the stairs and greeted his friend.

"Isaac, what's the matter, you're winded?" enquired Andrew holding the door open for Dr. Featherston to enter.

"I wish you lived closer to town," he gasped as he climbed the stairs and entered the Stewart's living quarters at the back of the Inn. "Eleanor, how lovely to see you."

Eleanor rose with some difficulty from her chair to greet Isaac.

"No please, don't get up on my account." Isaac strode over to give her a kiss on the cheek. "As always Eleanor, you look wonderful. Being with child suits you," he offered, helping her back to the chair.
