[Chapter 47] Void Slimes

"Void slimes have the ability to control the void dimension, they are seen as a being that bows to no one. These slimes are unique with their purple color and the form they take, some choose to take cat personas while others take form as beings from nightmares, but there have been limits shown to their transformative abilities."

"They have a terrifying control of the void, hence their name, and are not to be trifled with. There have been cases where they are able to take on dragons, but this event is very rare seeing how most void slimes don't live long enough to learn to control their abilities. To learn their abilities, studies show they take around 100-200 years to learn the combat side of their abilities while they take 10-70 years to learn the non combat side of their abilities."

I look over to Winter who crawled onto my ark to look at the book. 'Looks like you won't be able to fight anytime soon. That sucks but you will be a behemoth when your done learning.' And then I notice him staring intently at the book. "Can you even read?" I laugh while I rub his head with my other hand. He purrs slightly but doesn't stop looking at the book. I shrug it off and continue reading, absorbed by my book.

Meanwhile, in another dimension, a black semi-Dragonborn is sitting on his throne, drumming his fingers impatiently. 'It has been over a week and it's like he just disappeared from this world...Wait.' He sits upright with a sudden realization.

'If he has the ability to teleport with his shadow like a king, then that means he might of learned the ability to jump between dimensions!' He immediately stands up and leaves the throne room, his wife startled by his sudden change in attitude. He continues to walk down different halls, taking turns that would make him seem like a mad man until he reaches a metal door. He knocks on it and waits until he hears a kind feminine voice from the other side, "Who is it?"

The king smiles slightly as he hears this voice from the other side. "It's me mom, I need your help with something." He hears feet shuffling and sees the metal door open just to see an elderly black Dragonborn smile at him, her arms wide open.

The king smiles and walks forward, hugging the old Dragonborn with much love. He lets go and looks at her, "How's dad been?" She laughs and waves one of her hands' "He's still the grumpy old man we both know." He laughs with her, knowing that his father is fine. His mother walks over and sits her son down before shuffling over and sitting across from him, slowly sitting down comfortably on the couch. "So what do you need Ochil?" She says while she looks at him happily. Any visit from her son makes her smile. 'It's hard to believe she used to be the queen.'

He clears his throat, "I need help finding someone, and only you can do it with your affinity." She sits there with her happy smile still there care in her eyes, "What did the person do? Did they commit a crime or something?" The king shakes his head, "No mom, I believe he might be a Shadow Dragon King." She nods, "And you hope he will be a worthy heir?" He gulps and nods, fear in his eyes. 'This women can still read me like an open book. Hard to believe I'm related to her.'

She stands up and begins walking into another room, "I haven't done it in a while, but I can give it a try, but you must promise to come see me more often Ochil." She responds and wags her finger at him.

He nods while smiling, "I know, I know, I am trying my best but I am still a king." "And I am still your mother!" She responds, her smile gone now. As they enter the room, the king looks around. 'Still can't get used to this place.' The room is pure blue with a white orb in the middle. She places her hands on the orb and the orb begins to glow as she pushes her mana into it. "I need to know what he looks like and I already know the reason!" He tries to explain what he looks like which is mediocre at best, she frowns at him.

"With that description, you might as well just stop wasting my time." He thinks for a moment and then tries explaining again, painting a clearer picture, she nods and starts to focus. 'I still can't get over this no matter the amount of times I look at it, her affinity is amazing.' Her affinity is one that has been named, communicator of the gods. It isn't an element but instead allows her to ask the gods one question every ten years, but it requires a clear, concise question and the reason for the question must be stated. That's why many rather call it a gift rather than an affinity, yet it is unique to her alone. There is one rule though, the question must be approved by the gods, if they deem it to almighty, they might request a different question. This room and the orb are to help with communicating.

The king and his mother wait there for a few minutes before she frowns, "This is....odd."
