I hear some rushed steps behind me as I feel the ground tremble, the mountain begins to collapse inward as dust and boulders fill the air around it. I calmly walk back to my seat as I sit down, the window still open as I ask, "Convinced?"
The room is filled with silence as everyone looks at the collapsed mountain, the horrifying memory still engrained in their heads. And no one dared to point out the slime resting on his head after seeing that performance. The kid silently nods as his demeanor becomes more respectful.
I place the rifle on the table as I continue, "If you join my alliance, you will be getting a plethora of non magical blueprints that you can tinker and modify with magic as much as you wish...but I have a few catches."
This catches everyone's already caught attention, as long as they weren't demanding, they could agree. I clear my throat as I stare at the plethora of novels clearly, "Certain materials will only be manufactured here since no one in your kingdom can create these certain ones, I request extra guards and someone worthy to supervise my kingdom while I am gone."
They tilt their heads in confusion before I explain, "I actually have decided to live in another dimension, I am able to come back and fourth from it as I please. The main reason is I have family and relatives in the other world and don't know if they would be willing to come and live here."
The nobles look between eachother as they think over what I said, after all, leaving a kingdom unsupervised is not suggested for many reasons. I dispel their worries swiftly as I quickly add, "However, I have hidden defenses everywhere that can protect this place better than any person can, this is just so I can have someone help guide the development of my kingdom while I am gone. I will check in every once in a while to make sure the growth is good and continuous."
I finish talking as I wait silently, the nobles beginning to discuss this between themselves, they have no doubt of my words after seeing my crafting ability. After about an hour of talking, Ochil speaks. He was sitting silently while listening to everyone, contemplating his decision.
"I have decided to accept your terms, what shall this alliance be called?" He asks calmly, the crowd hushing down.
I stand up as I pick up the rifle in one hand, "The Dark Link." I wave my hand as a paper contract appears in my free hand. I place the contract down as I patiently wait for him to sign. He reads over the contract and nods, seeing the terms I have stated in ink on its surface.
He waves his hand as a golden pen appears in his hand, swiftly signing his name on the contract. I wave my hand as I remove a pen from my ring and sign my name as well, the name of The Dark Link becoming official.
I gently pick up the paper as I walk over to the wall, closing the window. I smile as I open the door, happy the meeting went well. I take a deep breath as I turn around, "I thank you all for coming here today, you may spend the rest of the day in my kingdom if you choose to, I must frame this so it stays in good condition."
People nod as I walk out of the room, the rifle as large as I am in my hands. Almost everyone except Ochil and Liz let out a breath of relief, as if my presence alone had caused them stress.
I take the elevator to my room as I make a weapon rack, hanging up my brand new rifle. I then look over at my desk as I create a picture frame using absolute shadow. But as the pitch black frame appears into reality, microchips, wires, and all sorts of parts pop into reality.
I immediately get to work and begin assembling the parts, having designed this to easily be put together but nearly impossible to be taken apart. I am able to create designs in my mind within seconds thanks to my large variety of blueprints in my memory, and I need to put stuff together from time to time or else I will get rusty.
As I sunset the last piece, it glows with a white light, a holographic cover appearing in the empty front. I place the paper inside as I seal off the back, hanging this up on my wall beside the rifle.
I smile happily as I walk back to my workshop, deciding to work on some projects I left unfinished. As I arrive, I see the same people gazing across the machines, afraid to touch them but still trying to figure out how they work nonetheless.
As I walk in, I grab everyone's attention but ignore it as I continue on some unfinished weapons. People watch in awe as I work, noticing that every movement I have has a purpose as I mold and create weapons.
After an hour, one of the nobles walks up to me, two kids trailing behind him. He is a semi-human Dragonborn with dark blue scales, wearing a majority of red clothes. He claps his hands as he greets me, "Hello Kurayami, I am a man who is greatly intrigued by technology and so is my daughter."
I look down at the light blue Dragonborn as she smiles up at me, she is about 5'3ft and seems to be around 12-13. Medium horns are growing from her head, reaching a little less than 4 inches. She steps forward as she bows, "Hello sir, I am Eza. It is a pleasure to meet you and an impossible honor to see your workshop."
I wave at her as I pull up my goggles, "Hi Eza and thank you for the compliment. So you like mechanics as well?"
She nods as a sad look appears, "Yes, but mother says it isn't very lady like..."
I wave it off, "Who cares? You can be anything you want to be, it is all up to you."
Her eyes shine as I say that, "Really?"
I nod, "Anything is possible, it's up to people like us who go against the trends to make a difference."
I wave my hand as the shadows jump to life in my hand, causing her to cry out of surprise. The shadows around me solidify as parts and pieces fall to the ground. I drop the slime as he immediately sucks up each piece, like a roomba.
He immediately assembled the parts as they form to create a set of black goggles. He crawls up my arm as he spits it into my hand, swiftly going back to rest on my head. I toss the goggles to her as they soar into her hands. She has a look of shock as she flips them around in her hand, looking over the unique goggles that...have no lenses.
She has a look of confusion as I walk over. I let them continue to rest in her hand as I simply click the top rivit, causing the goggles to create ghost white lenses.
And lastly, my seal rests on one of the rivets, a slime covered in shadow like wisps. She gazes in awe as a look of happiness and determination form.
"Forge your own path, maybe you will create revolutionary technology one day. So never stop believing in yourself, no matter what others say." I say with a smile. She nods firmly, as if determined to follow my words.
