The Good News and the Bad News
"Urghhhh…"
I awake to find myself in familiar setting, I am in the entrance way room where me and Mother sleep. This time however, instead of the floor I seem to be laying on a bunch of fluffy feathers.
"Hmmm how strange, I suppose I better get up and find Mot..he…r… I have a human hand? And legs an…d… WHAT IS GOING ON?!" I shouted in confusion.
I rushed over to a large damaged mirror that could be found in the room. What I saw left me completely surprised…
I had long red hair, which seemed to turn black as it got to the tips, that seems to have been tied back into a ponytail with a ribbon. Poking out from my hair were two small horns that were just barely visible. I was currently wearing a kimono, like mother usually does, which was black with blooming red flowers patterned onto it. Underneath my kimono I could feel my tail swishing from side to side.
"Looks like I retained some of my Dragon features even in my humanoid form. Huh?"
I noticed that near my fluffy bed of feathers there was a pair of sandals, that seemed like they could be my size when I looked at them and then my feet. Slid them on and they fitted perfectly.
"Wow, so this is my Human Form?" I say while staring at myself in the mirror.
I had rather pale white skin, small ruby red lips, a small nose and the same golden eyes that I had while I was still just a Dragon. Now, those features were all quite cute so those were not too bad.
However… when I picture Mother… and then look at myself in the mirror…
Why… WHYWHYWHY!
I grab the mirror and stare intensely at my new form.
Why am I so small! Mother said that once Dragons Evolve for the first time, they often take an adult form! Or at the very least they are tall and dignified looking! So why do I look so immature!
My height was tiny compared to Mothers! When I measure up where she would normally reach when looking in this mirror I am so much further below that point! Mother seemed to be around 6 foot 5 inches, if I was making a guess. Whereas I seemed to be in the low end of 5 foot 2 inches, if I am being generous!
I could maybe live with the height if it was just that. But compared to all the gorgeous and mature features of Mothers, I just look super childish! I think as I look down at myself.
Uuuuuu and Mother said that we age at a glacial pace as well, I am going to be stuck like this for so long. I want cry.
*Whisper*
But then I heard something coming from somewhere nearby. I sharpen my senses and listen again.
"…yea… oh no this one would look good…"
"Fufufu good choice my lady…. What about…"
…
It seems to be two people having a conversation. It was coming from a bit further into the castle.
So I follow the excited whispering into one of the hallways, which then led to one of the side rooms. I listen again for the voices…
"Haaah can you believe how cute she was though. I mean I was expecting it cause she has always been small, but seeing it in real life and not just in my dreams… uuuu I can't hold myself back we need to hurry and pick something so I can go see her again!"
"Fufufu I understand how you feel my lady Petra. When I first saw her saw I had wanted her all to myself… but having an ally to talk to about lady Alicia's cuteness together with is super nice."
"Haha I don't blame you for thinking that originally, I mean that is just her level of adorableness taking its affect on you…"
The two voices carried on discussing the topic of me excitedly.
Now I recognise one voice, which is obviously Mothers voice. However, I do not believe I know the other one? And what are they doing in here?
I had a bad feeling about entering the room. I considered just going back to bed and sleeping so I didn't have to deal what ever troublesome situation would definitely occur from me opening this door.
My curiosity got the better of me however, and I slowly opened the door.
"Mother? Are you in here?" I say as I open the door.
The moment I said that, Mother had already begun to barrel towards me with outstretched arms.
"Aliciaaaa!"
I braced myself for impact. Fortunately, though, she managed to slow herself down but she still grabbed and pulled me into her chest.
Uuuuu how can I be her child and still be so much smaller then her in every way, I think despairingly.
Mother notices me just staring into her chest intensely with a rather upset and angry face.
"Hmmm what's up Alicia?" Mother says as she tilts her in confusion.
That snaps me out of it and I look up at Mothers face.
"Ah hello Mother, I have some quick questions about my current form."
"Of course, ask away." She says calmly with a gentle smile.
"I believe you said that all Dragons you have seen and heard of have quite mature adult forms, or at least are quite tall and strong looking. Sooooo… WHY AM I SO TINY COMPARED TO YOU!" I shout my part question, part complaint at Mother.
In response she did her usual giggle at me before saying…
"We have already discussed this before didn't we? You were born prematurely and were a lot smaller than normal Dragon children are. Fortunately, it seems that you will be smaller than a normal Dragon, perhaps for all your life."
"…Mother did you say fortunately?" I squint my eyes at her suspiciously.
"Fufufu you must be hearing things with your adorable little ears dear Alicia." Mother replied calmly.
As I sat there in despair, I decided to take a look at my status board. I had evolved so hopefully I would have at least gotten stronger.

As soon as I saw my status board, there were various things that both disappointed me and made me really excited.
Firstly what made me excited. There were so many new skills that I could try out the next time I was out practicing and defeating monsters! Also, my stats took a massive jump up. Hopefully that means even though I am quite small in stature, I will be really strong.
I can also now use Dark Element Magic, which opens up a new avenue for me to use in my attacks.
Finally, there is my race. It sounded really cool and powerful; I wonder what my dragon form looked like now. Maybe it's bigger than my human form might suggest.
The bad, now I still had my old title and status which basically mocked my stature, and has caused me to end up being small still after I have evolved. Now Mother tells me that I could remain smaller than most Dragons forever!? Dragons have super long lives and no one actually knows the life span of one.
But I also had a new title [Charming One], hmm should I take it as a compliment?
"Oh and who is that behind you?" I realise that I had completely forgotten about the woman who Mother was talking to.
As I said that the lady turned around and I could now see her properly.
She had she seemed to have four arms and two legs. She had a human face that was actually really beautiful and her eyes were entirely golden. Her skin tone was lovely dark brown and her hair was was short and a silver colour. she was wearing a rather tight body suit that showed off a very health toned body, much like Mothers body. There were of course other parts that also seemed a lot like Mother, with her long legs and big breasts. Tch.
Hmm now that I think about it those eyes look familiar, and her arms and legs were also quite strange. It was not just that there was double the amount of arms you would normally see, but they had some resemblance to the arms and legs of the ants I have been fighting all this time…. And there also seems to be what looked like mandibles that come from the side of the head round to just below the chin…
"Fufufu good morning lady Alicia, it is good that you have finally woken up."
Waaaait…
The sound of the voice sounds familiar too…
Huh… NO WAY!
"ARE YOU THAT ANT QUEEN!"
She steps forward and bows towards me.
"Yes I am indeed my lady. I have come to serve and help you and your Mother in your daily life here, if that is okay?"
She comes forwards again and gets quite close to me.
"Ermm s-sure th-there is no problem with that. Are you s-sure I mean we did attack your colony? Ah but if you are staying can you help me train and spar with me sometimes?!"
"Fufufu, do not worry, I was taken by my lady cuteness and you also saved me so I owe you my life. Also, I have no problem with being your sparing partner just going easy on my hehe. I look forward to being with you, my lady."
"Hehe likewise!" I say loudly while blushing slightly for being complimented.
*Clap clap*
"Okayyyy now introductions are done, it is time to do this!" Mother pointed to a large pile of clothes that seemed to be in the corner.
"Now you are awake it will be much easier to get them on you, won't miss Ant Queen?"
"Kukuku it will indeed lady Petra…"
Wait, they have been putting these embarrassing clothes on me while I have been sleeping!
"Now come Alicia, we have to try all of these on before you are allowed to go out and train again…"
"What! N-no Mother I am not ready AH!"
That day, I gained a family member, but lost something inside of me.
