a month later...
Jennie's POV
Lights, breakthrough the walls, the press, television reporters, the red carpet; I can't believe she actually did it.
Everyone was now going to see her hard work. The smile on her face made me even happier than she was. Now I felt like she was actually content with everything.
She was like a ray of sunshine. Her cheerfulness was contagious. She made almost everyone from the press laugh.
Less than two months before this much awaited day, Lisa told me about what Bian had warned her about Kai.
We decided not to bug him about it anymore after that. It's not like he was going to tell the truth anyway. However, we became extra cautious when it came to the information we would give him.
While waiting for the beginning of the event, Lisa's aunt Min and the rest of her family had their eyes glued to Lisa and the monitor where the video of the book's preview is playing. Minnie was with Lilly, they came all the way from Thailand to witness this event.
Lisa's jaw was dropped nearly the entire time. She never said a single word. Instead, she had her hand tightly gripped around mine.
"It's like I'm reading our story right in front of my eyes," she finally says.
"You made our dreams come to life," I smile, planting a quick kiss on her cheek. I couldn't be prouder of her right now. Although I know that I inspired most of this, I couldn't possibly take the credit for her.
She was the most hard working person I've ever met. And the best part of all was that she ended up doing everything out of love, love for me.
Kai and Bian were sat beside Seulgi and Irene. Kai was rolling his eyes most of the time. Either that or he would always keep his attention to his phone.
I love how Lisa revised her entire plot idea the moment I came into her life. The story was originally supposed to be a love story about two completely different people who meet at the unexpected place.
But she managed to change it all up according to our story really began, in my dreams. She managed to take out Kai's character in the story to avoid drama, which would most likely happen knowing how Kai is now.
The moment the teaser ended with Jennifer's final line before the credits were rolled, the crowd was filled with gasps.
"Meet me when I'm asleep. " Jennifer says, her eyes sparkling as she breathed out what was going to become the most memorable line in the book.
At first the audience was silent, but after Minnie started the applause, everyone else followed. The entire auditorium was now filled with screams. People were shouting Lisa's name. Cameras started to focus on her face.
She just sat there in awe of everything that was happening around her.
The music stops from playing and in a split of second, everyone went in silence.
"Good Day Everyone." The man in i think almost mid fifty stood up in the stage.
"Miss Lisa, we need to go." a woman approaches us telling that the event will began.
Lisa look at me with a nervous eyes. "You can do it." I smile and connect my lips on her. "i love you."
They went to the back stage where everyone is focused
"No one will know how our life will end and we should be thankful of what we have now. Sieze every moment just like Jennifer said. Like how this woman fought and win against all the odds. Without further ado, may we call on, the eldest daughter of our Late CEO Marco Manoban, the now new President of Manoban's Company, may we call on, Ms. Lisa Manoban!"
Lisa enters with a sass in every step but never forget to smile. A microphone was handed to her i can see how she whispers thank you before went to the center of the stage. The spotlight was on her so is everyone.
"Uhm... It's my pleasure to welcome each of you. I know by know how confused are you but what you've heard is true, I, Lisa Pranpriya Manoban, the eldest daughter of late Mr and Mrs Manoban. We consider ourselves lucky to be alive after the accident. Most of you thought that we all died but I, and my younger sister make it. I was in state of Coma for almost a year, when everyone lose hope - my best friend didn't...." Lisa looks at Rosé and give her a cheerful smile. "She fought for me and my sister. She took care of us and because of her, i was able to stand here in front you, taking care of what my parents has left. It wasn't easy to woke up knowing that you're already an orphan. I felt like i don't have a reason to live but then just like what Mr. Go said, we should be thankful of what we had now. We never know when will our life end and as long as were breathing, keep moving. " Lisa stops and smile then took the book on the mini couch on the side. "Today as you witnessed my first day as the President of Manoban's Company, is also the day my personal book will be on sales." Lisa show the blue book that she worked. " This book was made a week after i woke up from Coma. I have no idea that my small way of taking out boredom will be this big, Let Me See You is not just your ordinary book. It was more of the way it sounds and it wont be possible without the help of the most special person to me, to the woman who helps me not just recover but also believe that life is exciting and full of surprises."Lisa just stare at me full of emotions on her eyes. " to the woman woman who never seize to amaze me, Jennie this book is for you."
* * *
"Congratulations, Lisa!"
"That was brilliant!"
"Can't wait for the next book!"
"This one's will be big for sure!"
The press circled around her the moment she stepped out of the stage. I stepped out of the crowd and allowed her to revel in the attention and praise meant for her.
Lisa went on my side and give me a peck. "You did great." The flashing of camera continues to flicker, Lisa stood in front covering me from medias.
"Lets go inside." she lead me to the room where her family and our friends are.
"Lisa!!!!" Everyone squeals as we enter.
"That was amazing." Lisa's aunt kiss her on the cheek.
"Praaan!!" Minnie came and give her a hug followed by little girl running and hug Lisa by her legs.
She bend and give her sister a hug.
After that nonstop comgratulary from the closest person to us, we sat on the side where Rosé and Jisoo is.
I furrow my eyebrows as I sipped my drink as i look at them while Lisa is busy feeding her little sister. I cleared my throat, but they didn't seem to notice that I was there. Jisoo was already way too engaged into the conversation.
"I never wanted to. My parents just thought it would be a good idea."
"Really?" Jisoo widens her eyes. "Are you sure about that?"
Rosé nods. "I've never been so sure in my life. I just don't know how to tell my parents. You know how strict my father is. I will probably end up stuck in a horrible proposal and will be miserable for the rest of my life - "
I don't know what they were talking but Jisoo interrupts her with a kiss.
I nearly choke on my cocktail drink.
Rosé's eyelids flew open, but seconds later she was already wrapping her arms around her back, pulling her closer. Jisoo smirked and deepened the kiss even more, running her fingers through her hair.
Lisa noticed and immediately covers the poor eyes of our little Lilly.
"Jis..." she murmurs.
"I've been wanting to do that since the day I first laid my eyes on you," she smiles.
Rosé doesn't say anything in return. Instead, she leans in for another kiss.
I shake my head and smile to myself. "I guess that was a sign for us to find someplace else to eat for the meantime." Lisa said as she took Lilly away from these hormonal couple.
A few mintues passed and I spotted Lisa coming back pushing herself away from the people, making her way towards me.
"Baby" she smiles as she pulls me by the hand. "I think I forgot to tell you how beautiful you look in that dress."
"I think you forgot that you've told me that more than ten times today," I giggle, brushing my hands over her brand new suit. "You look quite dapper yourself, Lisa Manoban."
Lisa smirks as she held my hand over her heart. "I say I whisk you away after this, find a fancy hotel, dance under the moonlight maybe, and celebrate - just the two of us? This is all for you."
"This is for you too," I reminded her. "This has been yours before I even came."
"But It's always been you, Jennie," she murmurs as she buries her face in my neck. "Even before we met. This can't possibly be for me. This is for you. If it weren't for you, I would probably still be stuck in one corner of my apartment, trying to come up with a life, with this story. Turns out our story was already written way before I had even thought of it."
"Lisa, would you mind coming over for a quick interview?" one of the organizers interrupt us out from the crowd.
Lisa sighs. "To be honest, I don't like this bit."
"Go on, love" I laugh. "I'll wait for you."
"I'll be quick," she plants a kiss on my lips before making her way back to the crowd.
I headed back to the open bar, hoping I could find Irene and Seulgi. To my surprise, they weren't sitting on the stools anymore where i saw them earlier. Instead of my best friend and her girlfriend, it was Kai himself.
My mouth parted open, but nothing came out.
"Oh Jennie." he smirked.
"Where's Irene and Seulgi?" I tried to look around but i couldn't find them.
"I don't know where they are, maybe making out somewhere."
"okay."
"You know what else is the right thing to do?" he suddenly laughs."Sell your story to the media."
I felt my body freeze for a second. "You mean the book?"
"Come on," he rolls his eyes. "You think nobody will find out the real story behind Lisa's book? Everybody probably thinks she's bloody brilliant, but the truth is that the girl's got zero imagination because everything was just fed to her through a dream... right Jennie?"
"The moment the tabloids and gossip magazines come out tomorrow morning, the first thing everyone will see is the real story, the story that the two of you have been keeping to yourselves," he went on angrily, slamming his empty wine glass on the counter. "I guess it's no longer something sacred and special now."
"I can't believe you were that stupid, sweetheart."
