R1-2 Ragnar Weber

[Raggy, you better wake up or I will strike you with lightning!]

After awakening from his slumber after "hearing" the alarm resounding within his mind, Ragnar sat upright. It has been six years ever since his birth and he had gotten used to this way of waking up, although today it appears that Arcana came up with a new line to wake him up with.

"Morning" Ragnar muttered knowing full well that Arcana never directly responds to him, perhaps it was because it was shy? or there could be many other reasons but honestly, it did not bother him that much since he knew it could hear him perfectly.

After getting dressed in a casual plain white t-shirt with no designs, blue three-quarter pants and white sneakers. Ragnar went down the stairs of his home where he was almost entranced by the mouth-watering smell coming from the kitchen.

Ragnar's home was a two-story house, much bigger compared to average homes but smaller than a mansion. His room was on the second floor along with his playroom, bathroom and a few additional empty rooms.

His parent's room was on the ground floor along with the kitchen, living room, dining room as well as a guest room. It was not overly decorated but it was a place to call home, and right now Ragnar's mother Emilia was making breakfast.

"You let your guard down!" Ragnar shouts the moment he silently appeared behind his father only to be shocked at how fast his father turned around picking him up, throwing up in the air barely missing the roof before catching him again.

"Hah! You have a long way to go Rag" Herman said while smiling warmly at his son who always tried to sneak up on him to get a hit, he could still faintly remember the face of his son who determinedly asked him to train and this was a condition he placed for Ragnar.

"Muuu! Mom! Dad cheated again!" Ragnar complained feeling frustrated that his father was using his advantage over him, although he could understand it he still felt like he could not lose too much face in front of his mother.

"Ara ara, you better play by the rules or the couch will be it" Emilia said with a smile that was not entirely a smile, both Herman and Ragnar froze solid feeling scared at the Hanya that appeared behind Emilia like an illusion.

It was a golden rule in the family that as long as they are in the dining room or kitchen, no noise or playing is around since cooking could become dangerous if there are too many disturbances or so Emilia once told Ragnar.

"It is father's fault!" Ragnar swiftly pushed the blame on his father while looking away not daring to look at his father who was looking at him with a shocked expression as if he had been betrayed.

"You little!" Herman began to knead Ragnar's head with his knuckles.

"Ow! OW! Mom, dad is bullying me!" Ragnar called out for his ultimate assistance only to feel incredibly shocked at his mother's words.

"Fufu, all I see is your father rubbing his love on you," Emilia said before turning around to continue her cooking.

[Condition for the Fool has been met!]

[Arcana Tarot Card Unlocked! The Fool]

'The heck! You are the fool!' Ragnar unconsciously rebuked Arcana for the notification, but it was only after a moment he realized he somehow unlocked something. Is Arcana trying to tell him that he was a fool for asking for help after looking for trouble?

'Arcana Tarot Card? Could it be that divine gear of the death goddess?' Ragnar felt sceptical as he could not understand if this kind of gear should be so easy to unlock, it was a divine gear which could be classified as a God Realm weapon or item. But for now, he could only put it behind his head as he continued to play with his father.

"Father, when are you going to train me?" Ragnar asked while looking at his father with expectation, he had been nagging at his father for years and refused to give up ever since the first day he came back from the Weber Family primary school.

"Why you want to learn?" Herman placed Ragnar on his lap while semi-seriously asked his son a question, he wanted to know the reason and what the general direction his son wishes to become strong for in the future.

"I want to challenge dragons! And--- And---" Ragnar blushed a bit while thinking that this was his most essential reason, seeing this both Herman and Emilia froze almost have a nosebleed from how cute Ragnar was at this moment.

Twidling with his thumbs, he gained his courage and shouted "I want to protect our family! Not only father alone but I too want to protect it!"

'So cute!!!' Both Emilia and Herman were entranced at Ragnar's cute actions but more than that was deeply touched at how much this son of theirs was thinking of their family. Since Herman knew that the condition he set for Ragnar was a bit too much and he was about the right age for Super Warriors to train he looked towards Emilia who nodded.

"I can train you, but for the next six months, you will have to learn from mother without a single complaint. If you manage to satisfy your mother's expectations then I will train you" Herman said to his son while gently rubbing his head.

"Yes, father!" Ragnar began to swing his arms around while feeling happy, Herman and Emilia smiled warmly at their excited son as the three of them began to eat their breakfast together.

"Before we can start with magic, I suppose you have to first learn how to sense magic" Emilia muttered while organizing how to teach Ragnar who was sitting patiently in front of her since she did not have a chance to prepare unlike her husband who will only start his teaching after six months she had to adapt to her situation.

"Mana is a small part that stems off from the Origin energy where all energy comes from, some call it Akashic Records while others call it Arcana and many other names. There are many names for it but unlike the internal energy or chi from the eastern countries use, or aura from the western countries as well as many others. The application of both energies works the same, although the process of how the results came to be is what makes them different. For us, mana is the most common energy we use to cast our spells" Emilia began to explain the basics before she would start to officially teach her son.

After a few hours of explanations, Ragnar who would have fallen asleep in such situations was kept awake by Emilia who used her magic without him realizing it.

"Try to sense it on your own" Emilia said as she watches Ragnar closing his eyes to keep himself from being distracted.

It was difficult to sense mana in the atmosphere at the start, it was until he began to feel a strange unfamiliar yet familiar feeling of light exposed to his body although he could not see it but it felt almost similar to being exposed to the sun which was warm and embraced his body as if it was everywhere.

[Mana sense acquired!]

"Huh?" Emilia looked at her son feeling shocked when she noticed that he managed to sense the mana, although there were cases of genius being able to sense mana but isn't this too quick? It was like he closed his eyes and immediately being able to sense? Does this make any sense at all?

"It's warm and comfortable," Ragnar said as he instinctively began to will the mana around him to enter his body which shocked Emilia even more.

"Stop!" Emilia involuntarily shouted at Ragnar, pulling him out of his stupor.

"Mom?" Ragnar glanced at his mother who had a worried look on her face, she was currently using her magic to sense if there was anything wrong with her son but luckily there was none.

Unlike Ragnar, she knew that absorbing mana without knowledge it similar to a senjutsu user absorbing natural energy without experience to control it. Both lead to horrible ends.

"You should not carry on without having appropriate knowledge! What you attempted is something you do only when you understood what it means to absorb mana!" Emilia began to scold Ragnar, despite the fact she did not like raising her voice at her son it was for his sake after all.

After hearing a detailed explanation from his mother, Ragnar began to understand that he absorbed some mana which was luckily dispersed before it could assimilate with his own. With this, the magic training was brought to an abrupt stop and Ragnar was ordered to go to the library to start reading the books Emilia wrote on a list for him in order.

"What happened?" Herman arrived right after he was greeted with the sight of Ragnar heading to the library on his own, when he saw his wife being absentminded like that was truly something he never saw before.

"Uh? Oh, dear... DEAR! Do you realize how much talent our son holds!? I'm worried!" Emilia was calm at first but when she regained her senses she became excited but also worried at the same time, she began to explain her experience to Herman causing him to have a stern expression.

The reason was because of the Weber Family, it was only natural that geniuses should be reported to the family head but Herman knew the treatment Ragnar would get since his relationship with the Head's family was incredibly bad and such was also the reason Emilia was worried. She who had been bullied by the head's children felt worried about her son who fought against those children for her sake.

"For now, we will continue as we decided. We will also have to teach him not to reveal his talent outside of this house till he becomes strong enough" Herman said, Emilia nodded feeling it was only natural but the two of them were unaware that Ragnar came in trouble recently.
