R1-3 For the sake of Family

Ragnar who was walking peacefully towards the library was happy at the thought he was finally training, ever since he became awares he realized that he had inherited memories of another life however for some reason it appears the memories were locked in place and he only managed to absorb a portion of it with his own memories which were the reason behind his occasional mature actions unlike that of a child.

Although he felt curious about his memories, he was still kept focused on a single feeling he inherited from the portion of memories he absorbed which made him feel the urgency to get stronger. He was not certain why but getting stronger was aligned with his goal to protect his family, so he pushed for it ever since.

"Aren't you suppose to be sucking your mother's breast Raggy"

a feminine arrogant voice could be heard coming from behind him. turning around Ragnar was faced with a female girl he ultimate could not come to like regardless of how much he tried for the sake of his mother.

Stephanie Weber, an average looking girl with curly brown hair. Unlike her mother who was incredibly voluptuous and beautiful, she was scrawny and her looks mostly came from her father which made some question her origin behind her back.

Due to this, it made her have several complexes about herself, especially at the fact of how beautiful Ragnar's mother was and how Ragnar inherited her beauty which intensified her envy towards the two of them. As for Herman, she did not dare harbour any ill will against a man who could destroy the Weber family if he were to rampage.

"What do you want?" Ragnar asked looking straight at Stephanie, he inherited his father's stubborn courageous personality which only emerges when he faces off against people whom he is wary of. Mostly he was a cute innocent child, but under stressful situations, it's almost like a switch flip within him making him appear differently.

"You hear that? He dares to speak with Stephanie without respect"

The friends behind Stephanie began to speak behind her, although such talks would normally in whispers as for the parties who were being talked of not hear but they were doing intentionally. Stephanie with her temper and inferiority complex towards Ragnar worked perfectly well.

"You little branch family brat! Do you know not showing respect to the main family could sue you for rebellion!?" Stephanie's voice was loud enough causing even those behind her to freeze in shock at how unreasonable she was, even the people who were cleaning the street, managing their stalls all stopped to look at Stephanie.

This did not make her ashamed and instead spurred her anger as she pointed her finger towards him, "I challenge you to a duel! Unless you want me to hand your mother over to some of my servants, they would love to keep a woman like her company"

The surroundings became silent, Ragnar felt the blood rising to his head causing his rage that would normally not emerge to erupt all at once. "Fine! I will beat you up then you better leave my mother alone!"

"Young lady, I hope you were not serious about the War Commander's Wife" the butler that was tasked in watching over Stephanie appeared at an opportune time to turn this scandal around if the news were to come that the daughter of the head intends to use the wife of his trusted and hero of the family as a sex slave then even God could not help them if Herman rampages.

Stephanie who heard what he said also came to this conclusion felt like blood was draining from her face, she quickly nodded "Of course, I only want to teach this brat a lesson in a duel so I wanted to make him accept it! Yes!"

The surroundings including her friends and Ragnar could hardly believe her lie, it was not a secret that the daughter of the patriarch was jealous of Emilia Weber so most people believed her initial threat was something she truly thought of, and the butler knew this too but he had to "turn" her words into something else so they could use it to diffuse Herman's rage should he heard about it.

Although they know it will not help much, but it will at least give them a card should Herman come to seek explanation soon.

"Since both parties agreed, can everyone back off," The butler said while signalling the guards to move the townspeople far enough to prevent accidental injuries during the duel. Right now the butler wanted to initiate the duel to use it as another card against Herman, the fact that Ragnar did not back off was synonym to challenge the main family which was borderline rebellion.

Ragnar who recollected himself when he calmed down, seeing him surrounded by guards of the main family he felt uncomfortable. He could not understand what was going on but intuitively he felt he had been dragged into something, looking at Stephanie who had a smug smile on her face preparing to cast magic the moment the start was given.

"Both contenders ready?" The butler asked although he did not really care whether Ragnar was ready or not since he wanted to finish this as soon as possible,

Ragnar who heard this noticed there was no way to stop this duel from happening right now began to think what he could do, he understood that he stood no chance against Stephanie with how he was and the stress began to bore down on his shoulders till he heard Arcana's voice in his mind.

[Arcana's Divination: The Fool, current skill unlocked: Passive Luck (Beginner), Fool's World (Level:1)]

[Fool's World: Level 1 - Creates a domain with a radius of ten metres where nothing related to energy such as Mana, chi, divine power, etc. could be used. Duration depends on the power difference between host and opponent, current duration: 5 minutes]

After reading this, Ragnar tilted his head as he could not entirely grasp the meaning behind the skill's description. However, intuitively he felt that this skill could help him with his predicament. He noticed the butler raising his right hand in the skies before swinging it down.

"Begin!"

"AH! He is but a six-year-old boy!" One of the household members shouts out when they realized what was going on, by them the mana already began to converge around Stephanie.

"I will make you look uglier than a pig," Stephanie said aloud as she raised both her hands in the skies with a single burning orange magical formation filled with mysterious runes materialized above her aiming towards Ragnar.

"Fool's world" Ragnar unintentionally said the skill aloud making it sound like he was insulting Stephanie, this makes some laugh, some to pity, some to scorn while some became perplexed because any person within the radius of ten metres around Ragnar could feel the mana within their body but could not manipulate it.

Even the magic formation that appeared above Stephanie, as well as the mana that converged around her all, collapsed similar to what happened when a spell fails at the initial phase before it changes into emission magic.

"What!? Why did my spell fail?" Stephanie shouted out as she tried to manipulate her mana, her attention was diverted from Ragnar who took the opportunity to close the distance between them.

Ragnar knew he did not have any fancy moves to take her down from a range, nor did he have any skills in close combat except for a few things his mother taught him in case he met with a stranger that wanted to kidnap him.

While Stephanie was distracted, he closed the distance of ten metres to a single,

"Watch out!" The Butler called out to Stephanie who snapped out of her panicked state, but it was simply too late.

Using all his strength, Ragnar forward kicked the shin of Stephanie. If it was a normal kick, then such an attack would only serve as a short stun attack. But Ragnar, the son of a super warrior was naturally born stronger than normal children which made his attack is similar to that of a sixteen-year-old boy.

"AHHH!" Stephanie screamed as she nearly fell face-first on the ground but managed to tilt her body backwards collapsing on her butt while holding her shin starting to wail loudly.

Ragnar did not seem to care about a girl crying as he mounted on top of her, seeing how the boy was not even showing a sign of hesitation began to make the people question his education, personality and more than that they began to side with Stephanie who appears to be pitiful although they all were once on Ragnar's side due to his age.

"My mother always told me to never hit a girl unless I have a reasonable reason, so this is for my mother who you kept bullying!" Ragnar roared as he pulled Stephanie's hair forcing her to look towards him before smacking her right side of the face once before standing up.

Everyone was silent when they saw how Ragnar smacked the princess of the main family, although they could understand his reason for doing so after hearing his shout but what he did was no different from smacking the face of the patriarch!

"You! You dare to hit the princess! I will report this to my lord" The butler said in a timely manner, he quickly picked up Stephanie in order to prevent her from ruining his well set up plan to use it against Herman.

Ragnar who should have felt better to smack the one who kept making life difficult for his mother when his father was never around especially the main family who kept covering her, but a part of him simply could not feel comfortable... for smacking a girl.

However, he understood for the sake of becoming stronger he will, in the end, face female opponents as well so he will have to discard this soft side of his someday.

"Ragnar"

Hearing the voice of his father, Ragnar turned around to see his father who was not angry but instead had a proud looking face looking at from.

"You've done well, you are definitely the son of me and Emilia" Herman continued as he gently rubbed Ragnar's head, although it was by luck but his son still managed to win his first official fight. He could not help but feel proud of his boy, but a cold glint flashed in his eyes as he glanced at the largest mansion in the distance where the family of the patriarch of the main family lived.

"Daddy will take it over from here"

That was all Herman said before he sent Ragnar to the library before leaving without Ragnar realizing it.
