I'll Be The Villain Then

I sat down next to Violet whilst we were admiring the garden.

"I wonder who made this garden. If I knew about this place sooner, I would've helped." said Violet.

"Yeah, same here. My magic isn't that good but it would still be nice..."

"If the dark garden is this good, then what about the others? Imagine the light garden!"

"Yeahh..." I agreed trying to imagine what it would look like.

"Claire! Let's go outside for a second!"

We stepped outside as I was confused about why we she suddenly called me here. We normally like talking in the garden.

"Actually...the reason why I called you out here is because of what your sister said about you."

Huh? What did Rose say?

""Miss Violet!"

"Ah, Miss Rose! Is there anything you need?"

"Actually, I'm here to warn you about Claire."

"Warn me?"

"Yes! Well...I don't really like to talk about it but...I was bullied by Claire for a long time."

"Um."

"I wasn't able to say anything about it a-and knowing that-that you might be going through this too..." She cried.

"...""

She then bowed before me.

"I was unable to say anything as I was speechless...I'm very sorry!"

"A-ah no! Actually....you did the right thing..." I smiled.

You want me to be the villain, Rose? Then I'll be the villain! I'll be the greatest villain!

From above, there was someone watching. He sat on the roof and crossed his legs. His blood red eyes glimmered as he looked down, bird's view on the determined girl.

"Oooo. I'm definitely not missing this haha!" Carlos laughed.

I have a plan. I don't know if it's good or not but it should hold off for some time until I think of a proper one.

As predicted, there were rude rumours spreading about me. I'm not going to confront Rose though. This is exactly what she wants me to do. I figured out what she was doing after thinking about it.

She knew that Violet was going to come tell me this. After telling Violet, she was going crying to her "friends" about what she said to Violet and how she tried to warn Violet but she wouldn't listen.

Those "friends" would automatically go spread rumours about me to satisfy Rose in hopes of getting closer to her.

I'm supposed to then confront her about this but she'll be with the head master's son when I'm trying to talk to her. Yes. He's another one of her suitors. He will defend her as I try to defend myself and then boom. I'm expelled.

You see, the headmaster is a very doting father so he will listen to whatever his son has to say.

Eh. It's an okay plan. A bit basic though. She's just depending on the people around her and that's boring! If only I had a smarter opponent.

I have to be smart and tactical with this. She has a LOT of suitors so if I say one word that's wrong, then I'm dead. I'll also have to be better with my magic to fight them off. I can do it!

I have been training my magic a lot with Violet. That's step one in my plan after all. I have to be able to protect myself. So she's been teaching me defense. Defense is really hard but I think I've gotten the gist of it.

Okayyy! Step 2: Act Dumb.

"Sister, are you okay? You look pale!"

"Um. I was born pale! I'm fine haha!" I laughed.

"You're not concerned about ANYTHING?"

"Well, there is one thing..." I dragged on.

She looked behind her to check if the headmaster's son was there. Once she checked he was there, she smiled. So, I was right about her plan.

"Yes! Go on!"

Step 3: Let her think Violet is on her side.

"Violet has been acting weird."

"What do you mean?"

"She's been...kind of distant."

At this point she will probably think something like "Did she believe in what I said? This is going better than planned."

I've done my job here. If Violet plays her role well this time, then the plan is sure to work. I trust her so it should be fine. At least I've done my job for now...there's still the hard bit.

Violet was in the public garden with some of her friends. The public garden is for all students and the gardener takes care of it. The best gossipers in this town were with Violet. I picked out these particular people as they are essential to the plan.

Rose's suitors flashed smiles and gave money to the gossipers to spread rumours about me. The suitors are not that innocent either. Those bastards...

Step 4: Gossip.

Rose made eye contact with Violet as she gave her biggest smile and waved.

"Lady Violet!

Whilst I was hiding behind a bush. Haha this is perfect. Omg. I sound like a pervert...

"Lady Rose. What are you doing here?" she asked pretending to be surprised.

The gossipers were waiting for some drama with their watchful eyes. Wow, this is the perfect job for them. Look how passionate they are about gossiping!

"She has been bullying you as well, right?" Rose cried.

Yup, it's going as planned. Rose is so predictable.

"Why are you making up lies, Lady Rose?"

"H-huh, what?"

"You even told me that she bullied you when you were the one that bullied her!" Violet put on her great acting face. The gossiper's ears perked up.

"I never did any of that!"

"You made her hold your books, didn't defend her when her parents hated her and made her maid turn on her." That's not exactly bullying but this is a novel world. Anything could be bullying.

"But it's okay! We forgive you! So don't worry too much!"

Obviously, Violet's reputation is on the line here so we need to make sure she sounds good. Also if there is rumour that Violet has it in for Rose, then Fred wouldn't be so happy.

Now it's time for step 5. The hardest. Step 5 will probably take place tomorrow but it could be later today as well. It depends on the gossipers. Who knows? Either way, there is only one place Rose will go crying to.

Step 5: Violet/Claire vs Rose's suitors.

"This is an evil scheme you have here."

I felt a breath on my ear.
