Chapter 20 – Five Missions, Sara, Jana

After understanding how the crystalline book worked, Aile connected to Auxiliary Field Soul Connection.

He only received the information "Rune Spirits."

He tried to get more information, but the connection did not reply.

The Voice had told him he will get his auxiliary field from the connection. Then, he needs to understand a section of it to 70 percent to get more information out of this connection.

Seeing that he had completed his second task for tonight, he happily continued on.

Since he already had control of his internal body, he could cultivate Internal Spirit Ascension, as it required the use of blood vessels.

Before he could start, he received a message in his mind. Improve Internal Spirit Ascension for 4 units of energy.

At this, he remembered that The Voice had told him that this cultivation is not the best, and also that the Heavenly Myriad Book of Stars can improve cultivation manuals.

Knowing the importance of this cultivation, he immediately agreed for its improvement.

Then, the cultivation information about Internal Spirit Ascension disappeared from his head.

After 30 minutes, information about Surmounting Spirits Cultivation added to his mind, this was the improved version of Internal Spirit Ascension.

Aile quickly cultivated the Surmounting Spirits Cultivation.

He changed his breathing and blood circulation, the elements in the air gathered around Aile and entered his body; assimilating with his blood.

This cultivation absorbed all the elements from the environment.

This was unlike other cultivations, that absorb a specific element.

These elements merged inside Aile's body, and they deposited in specific locations according to the cultivation's direction.

He did not continue his cultivation as soon as he succeeded because he can do this later. He focused on the rest of his goals.

Aile was happy that he succeeded in another one of his goals tonight.

His next goal was to transform his soul either to light element or to merge his dark soul with the body's light soul and have both.

He knew that transforming his soul to light element was the safe option.

However, having both light and dark element had the potential to make him very strong.

He did not need to think much at this point. He chose the latter option.

He knew that he would get stronger with Surmounting Spirits Cultivation. Thus, he could afford to take the risk and tread the path of both light and dark elements.

The Voice had taught him how to move around the seal that Duke White had placed on the previous soul.

He formed a sharp soul strand and pierced the barrier that Duke White placed.

"Crack,"

A small opening was formed, the dark soul strand continued and stabbed into the previous light attribute soul.

Once the dark soul strand stabbed into the light soul, it formed a bridge.

Then, Aile created a suction force, the light soul got siphoned out and moved to Aile's soul. A small area of light element kept on forming and expanding in Aile's dark soul.

This process was painless, Duke White's seal had put the light attribute soul's consciences in a dormant state.

Thus, there was no resistance when Aile absorbed most of the light attribute's soul.

Aile continued to absorb everything.

However, when he tried to absorb his consciousness, there was something that blocked him and protected it.

Aile increased the suction force, and there was a little movement. However, he failed to absorb it in the end.

As the light attribute was opposite his dark attribute, once they entered the same medium, it became unstable.

Aile felt like he would explode one second and disintegrate another. This feeling was very dreadful.

Fortunately, the Soul Law in Aile's soul glowed and released strange energy that formed a balance between the two opposite elements.

After the two sides stabilized, Aile tried to control his half dark and half light soul. He tried to cut a small strand from both sides and weave them together, as he needed this for tonight's fifth goal.

Aile noticed that it was much easier on the dark soul's side, as he had plenty of experience there. However, on his light soul's side, he needed to put a lot more effort. After many failures, he wove the two elements together.

He then wove the two soul strands tighter, like a child's hair braid, and tried connecting it to the energy channels that had broken connections, because of Duke White's snake seal.

Two connections had broken so far, and with a few tries, Aile reconnected with them.

Now the soul connections were a mix of dark and light attribute.

With this, Aile completed all his goals. He was ready to change all the energy channels of the body to light and dark from now on.

Aile looked outside and noticed that it was already getting bright. He had spent the entire night finishing his tasks.

Aile was tired and drifted into sleep.

The next three days passed in peace. Aile would train his senses during the day, at night, he would cultivate the Surmounting Spirits Cultivation, and connect with the energy channels.

On the third day, there was a lot of noise, and running around the house.

With his now sharp senses, Aile understood that Hazel would give birth today.

The day passed, and with his sharp hearing, he heard a maid say that a baby girl was born named "Sara."

As if everyone forgot Aile's existence, he remained in his room most of the time. From time to time, he would receive a milk bottle, but he had no human contact. Hazel used to visit him, but infrequently.

Aile felt lonely. Seeing Hazel once in a while brought joy to him. But she had been busy with Sara.

A few more days passed, and Duke White arrived.

Aile's life had gotten repetitive, but his efforts were not in vain. He became stronger through his cultivation.

He could control his senses better and even further amplify them with the energy from his cultivation.

Duke White came, and first checked on Aile, but he did not notice that he had cultivated or that he had absorbed the light attribute soul.

Before he left, the door of the room opened, and Hazel entered.

"What are you doing here?" said, Hazel.

"I am here to see my daughter." Duke White replied.

"There is no need to pretend anymore, with Sara here our families matter is settled. We do not need to carry on this charade." Hazel said with an icy tone, she then turned around and closed the door with force.

"Bang,"

"Indeed, there is no need for the charade to continue," Duke White muttered as he followed Hazel.

A few minutes passed, and Aile heard the loud arguments, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not hear the conversation.

Then Duke White left the house.

Hazel came into Aile's room with dagger eyes.

She stared at Aile with hostility for a while. At a point, he thought she would take her anger out on him.

Aile could not figure out what happened that had turned Hazel against him.

She eventually left the room.

Then Aile continued the solitary journey. Hunter had also left the estate.

Aile spent most of his day with cultivation, improving his senses, and connecting with the energy channels.

Then one day a beautiful maid came, she was Ailes personal maid. She had a superb figure and an uplifting personality. She looked very young; she appeared to be 18 years old.

She took great care of him. Aile was ecstatic that someone cared for him. His solitary life had improved and became interesting now that someone paid attention to him.

Hazel had been avoiding him.

6 months passed, during this time, Aile had gotten accustomed with his new personal maid. He would smile more when the maid was around, and she too enjoyed her time with him.

Ailes new maid was an orphan, he knew this from one of the one-sided monologues she had in front of Aile. He connected with her as he too did not seem to have proper parents and was all alone; he understood her. He also learned her name was Jana. She treated Aile as her own.

She paid a lot of attention to him, and over time she spent more of her time with Aile.

After 6 months, he had improved in every aspect. With his senses of hearing, he heard a conversation. This came from the location Jana came to Aile's room every day. Thus, Aile always listened to her footsteps until she reached the door.

"Listen, all you have to do is add this to his next drink, and you could get your freedom and wealth…" This was the voice of a husky man.

"No! Aile is like my family, I could never do something to him… please he is just a child leave him alone." then he heard Jana's pleading.

"Let me make it clear, this is not a suggestion, you are a lowly maid, no one will notice if you are gone. There is a worse fate for attractive women then death."
