Chapter 19

Jael felt frustrated and stamped her feet in anger, causing cracks to appear on the glass that seemed to be the floor. The glass had endless thickness and no one could see its depth or area. When she had created the crack, it pierced through the floor and went into the endless depth and no one could see where the crack ended. After letting out her anger, she also sighed and pointed a finger reluctantly at one of the fire sparks. As she was doing so, she heard her father speaking again.

"You know you don't have to do this, just because he can't cultivate doesn't mean he will be bullied endlessly by the destiny of traveller. If you really take away his protection, he might die randomly by a water parasite or a heart attack. You really don't have to take away the so called "plot armor" that you gave him just because he can't cultivate in his life."

"Dad, you know I have to. This way, he has a chance to live according to his will and not by coincidences and endless troubles. I really regret bringing him to that world or even taking away his destined protection but in this way he can live a normal mortal life without worry or die without affecting his karma."

Hearing this, the old man finally let her go and sighed. His precious daughter had finally found a little crush in the lower dimension but he was too unlucky. He made sure that in the little boy's next life, he will personally protect him.

...

During the time that Jerry was unconscious, he suddenly had a feeling that he was abandoned and woke with a sad look on his face. He didn't know what it was but he knew he lost something so precious that it can never be bought with money.

"So this is my new life huh, being defeated over and over. It seems my life is destined to be filled with tragedies and I will never be able to cultivate."

He tried to circulate the little Qi he felt in his meridians and felt only blood running through them instead. He was now equivalent to a 100 year old mortal with no hope of ever cultivating or breaking out of the bullying cycle. "Well, might as well continue on with my meager life" he thought to himself. At least he's able to feel the blood flowing in his meridians and can check for injuries without spending hospital check up money with those crooked doctors.

As he stood up, he tried to meditate once more and felt peculiar. He opened his eyes and looked around, then close his eyes again in wonder. In his mind, somehow he saw 30 holes, they were shallow and small like they could fit a few test tubes in them. Of the 30 holes, three of them where filled up while the remaining 27 were empty. This confusing phenomenon was too peculiar that he gave up today and tried to think about it in the evening. When evening came, he observed it again and noticed that the holes weren't at the same level but in different levels while being of the same size. Was this the famous mind palace that he saw from Sherlock? He didn't think so since that was fiction. He tried to imagine that the holes were filled with water but nothing happened. He tried to imagine many things but nothing happened. He tried it every night for two months and even asked his friend the chef but got nothing. He even bribed the fatty after he earned some income but the fatty was confused as well. It wasn't until one day he tried to imagine that he was still a cultivator and tried to fill the hole with Qi. Suddenly, a clear green spring appeared in his mind and started to flow from one end of the holes were they were filled and flowed like the spring was irrigating those holes in his mind, feeling them with Qi.

His jaw almost dropped to the floor in suprise as he looked at such a scene. It was like his mind wasn't in his control and only the spring in front of him was all that mattered. The spring flowed and crossed the first hole, since it was full the spring overflowed to the second one and then the third one. After overflowing there, only a few droplets were left and they fell into the fourth hole. After that happened, he seemed to wake up and felt no different from before. He thought maybe finally his chest was here and it was his time to start face slapping those arrogant people that bullied him. After noticing that nothing had truly changed, he didn't panic but felt that maybe he should fill the rest of the holes with Qi and maybe he can cultivate. He started doing that every night until 5 months had passed but he had only filled up to 7 holes plus the ones that were already filled but nothing happened. He tried everything to see if there was any progress; punching, kicking, flying, mental attacks but nothing happened at all. Fourth months ago, seeing no progress he tried to empty the three already filled holes and maybe fill them afresh. After doing that, and the first hole was emptied thoroughly, he fainted and woke up to find that the spring had refilled the ten holes again but now even the first three holes contained the three green springs. Thinking it was progress he almost jumped for joy but later discovered that the gimmick was totally pointless. Four months later he finally accepted his fate as a mortal and tried to enjoy his little life for as long as he can. Anyway he had long discovered the since all the people that bullied him were idiots, he play a few tricks with them and defend his life and tiny dignity. He occasionally tried to fill the holes but it seemed to get more difficult but eitherway he enjoyed this little gimmick in his mind that looked like a luxurious fountain that you can control.

Even though he thought his life was going pretty smoothly and he was still a minor character however the truth was vastly different from what he perceived. Whether it was in the servant's quarter, the "hovers "and "pile" in the city lord's mansion. Everyone lived under fear and even the city lord was called back from the central continent but he was also scared by the harmless little mortal that lived in his mansion. It wasn't that the mortal was extremely strong or possessed a strong combat power. Any random worked in the manor could randomly slap him to death but it is this very mortal that scared the entire city's nobles to almost pee themselves at his sight. The fear was deeply ingrained in them that they couldn't extricate themselves from it because they knew it was right. This was a true monster. A monster that was totally harmless but was completely unstoppable when wanting to do something.
