Learning To Turn On the Sink

The next morning, Lin Ke woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside. Yawning, Lin Ke looked around to see Lia the bright rays of the morning sun seeping through the cave entrance. He sat up on the mattress, feeling quite refreshed, causing Lily, who had apparently crawled onto his chest to sleep, to tumble down.

"Nnnn." Lily complained, as she rolled down and landed on the mattress.

Lin Ke ignores her, and gets up to stretch a little. Looking at the bed to see if Lia was still sleeping, Lin Ke realized that it was empty. The blankets were neatly folded and the bedsheets were smoothed out.

"Oh, Lin Ke, you're awake." A wonderful, musical voice called from behind him. Lin Ke looks behind him to see Lia, who had changed into a beautiful white sundress carrying a basket of many different assortments of fruits.

She sets them down at the table and pulls a chair next to it. "I went out to pick some fruits and berries in the forest for breakfast." She explained.

Lin Ke looks at the colorful basket of fruits, there are many different types of fruits he had never before encountered, but of the fruits bore a certain degree of semblance to fruits he had seen on Earth. However, the main difference was that each of these fruits contained a large amount of world energy.

Lin Ke reached for the fruits, before pausing. 'Lily?' He quietly called in his head.

"Mmhmm?" She asked rather quickly.

"Do you sell toothbrushes and toothpaste?"

"Mhm."

"Well, sell me some. I have no clue what the people in this world do… If they even brush their teeth."

"They do… A lot of things are similar between this world and yours. Didn't you notice from Lia's bathtub the lights and stuff? You may be one of them, but certainly not the first." Lily responds.

Lin Ke stops to think about Lily's words. However, before long, Lily continued. "They're in your spatial storage space, I deducted 1 low-grade Chaos Stone."

"What's my balance right now?" Lin Ke asked, a little curious.

"Right now, you have 468 Low-Grade Chaos Stones left, and 6 Mid-Grade Chaos Stones." She replied.

"Oh. Okay." Lin Ke pulled out his toothbrush and the toothpaste, both extremely simply designed, with plain packaging.

Speaking aloud, Lin Ke asks Lia, "Lia, errr. This might be an odd question… but do you have a sink?"

Lia looks at him oddly, and nods. "Of course. DIdn't you see? I put it near the bathtub."

Lin Ke snaps his head around and looks to the bathtub… and realizes there was indeed a white ceramic sink there.

"Oh... " Lin Ke plainly responds, not knowing what else to say. In fact, he was already slightly expecting that response from her. Lin Ke walks over to the sink and stares at it, not knowing how he should turn it on, and not sure where the water would come from.

Looking back at Lia, Lin Ke asks, "How does this work?"

Lia giggles a little. "Well, there's a spatial space in the crystal embedded into the sink, and it causes the water being stored in the space to come out of the tap. You access it just like how you would access a spatial ring, just channel your True Energy and direct it to it."

"Well… How do I channel my True Energy out of my body? I don't really see a crystal." Lin Ke asks, slightly embarrassed by his own ignorance.

"Well the crystal is in the sink dummy! Channeling you True Energy outside your body is super easy! Just concentrate on the energy that's inside your body and imagine it coming out. Maybe use a hand to direct it first." Lia suggests.

"Okay." Lin Ke raises a hand and points it at the sink. Closing his eyes he tries to imagine the energy inside his body taking form outside it. Concentrating hard, he tries to move the True Energy outside his body. However, no matter how he tries, he couldn't get it out of his fingertip.

"Nnnnnn! Condense! Go! Arghhh!" Lin Ke shouts, frustrated. Then, an idea hit him. If he couldn't get it out of his body… Couldn't he pretend that the air was just another part of his body?

Lily, who had been lying down with her eyes closed, suddenly opens one eye, slightly interested in Lin Ke's train of thought.

'Think of it like another part of your body, Lin Ke!' He thought. 'Imagine the air as just an extension of an arm or something…' Concentrating once again, this time, Lin Ke felt the energy in his body begin to move out of his fingertips and into the open air. It headed in a straight line, and hit the sink, causing water to start gushing out.

"Hmm. That's a weird way to do it but I guess…" Lia responds slowly. With a wave of her hand, she sends her true energy flowing towards the sink, causing it to stop.

"How is it weird? Also, where does the water go?" Lin Ke confusedly asks.

"Well… The way you did it was extremely controlled, as if you were aiming for a bulls-eye. But, you don't need to do that. Also, you did it a little forcefully. The water goes to a different spatial stone at the bottom of the sink duh! It stores it up so it can be emptied later."

Speechless, Lin Ke turned back to the sink and continued to try turning it on and off. After a few more attempts, he was able to do it without having to concentrate super hard. Lia, after seeing Lin Ke was fine, went back to eating her breakfast.

After brushing his teeth, Lin Ke took a piece of fruit that looked like an apple and bit into it. It was quite ripe and juicy. It was practically an apple, if it wasn't for the amount of warm energy Lin Ke felt coursing through his body afterwards. Rapidly, he finished the "apple" and sat there, quite satisfied already.

After seeing Lin Ke had finished eating, Lily stood up on her four cat paws and said. "Since you're full, it's time for you to start learning about runic inscriptions. It shouldn't take too long."
