After finally leveling up, Marcus let out a sigh of relief.

"I wondered how long it would take." Marcus exclaimed

He had three stat and ability points to allocate. His first point of attention was the use of ability points. His ability tree had three main branches, one was omni silk, the second was hunter silk, and the last branch was a combination of both.

The next leaf of his hunter silk would sharpen the silk even more.

There was no real system or means to know

how sharp his silk was, compared to normal means. All the description said was that it would increase his silk to level one. However, this fact did not show up on his skill list.

Spending his ability point on omni silk opened an effect called [Sticky Drip]. It basically coated the silk in super glue. The effect also presented itself on his skill list.

For his last ability point, he put it in the hunter silk branch. He needed at least three points in both branches to unlock the middle branch's ability. For his second unlock in the hunter tree he got an effect called [Paralytic Drip].

As it sounded the effect coated the silk in a muscle relaxant that would paralyze my enemies.

Now that he was done with his ability points, he needed to focus on his stat points.

At first glance he wanted to put his points in speed but he had no idea how the stat would actually work. Exactly how strong or fast would he get? By what increments do they increase and what would be the most efficient choice?

By recalling his experiences on this weird island, the more dangerous animals would appear the deeper you go. Like a training sluice, effectively lowering the danger present in an actual jungle. This offered a chance to better prepare for his future, instead of making choices out of survival.

He started by doing 10 pushups, to gauge his strength. It wasn't too difficult but it still strained his arms and chest. He then did 5 pull ups after ten minutes.

Now it was the moment of truth, he put one point in strength.

"Woah!" Marcus exclaimed.

The upgrade felt like a rush of ice through his veins, invigorating his body.

He then went down, and started to do push-ups. Astoundingly he was able to 16 pushups almost as easily as he did the 10. Then he waited ten minutes and started to do the pull ups. Weirdly he was only able to do 7 pulls ups as easily.

The experiment affirmed what he thought about the system. Strength only strengthens the main muscles for fighting and weightlifting like biceps, chest and specific muscles in the back.

"I wonder what it would take to strengthen the muscles that fit my style. I don't need a crazy chest or biceps. I need a sturdy back, explosive core, and reliable hands and forearms. Kind of like a juiced out, mountain climber."

[Special Requirement Reached]

[User Marcus Grayson has opened the Muscle Development X-Factor Tab]

[10% of beings present under the system have access to this tab, created to develop muscles by additions to stat points]

[By your request, your strength stat will increase the muscular capabilities of your back, core, forearms and hands. Your arms will be deficient in comparison to others of the same stat but you will be able to out- sit-up them]

He felt widespread itching going along his body. So bad he started writhing on the ground. Not in pain but of sheer annoyance and irritation.

After the itching subsided he did pushups and found that 12 was his benchmark and for pull ups his new benchmark was 9.

"This system sure is adaptive" Marcus remarked

He then put another point in strength and one in speed.

To test out his new stats, Marcus ran out into the woods to try things out. He noticed the change in speed immediately. Things were moving by faster and he wasn't going his max speed.

Another thing he noticed was that apparently speed and agility were not the same things. His linear speed increased but when there was an obstacle in front of him he could not maintain the same speed while vaulting it or using parkour to move past it.

"Maybe it is a higher stat like unlocking Balance, I need to say a key word or perform a special action."

The system didn't respond but he knew he needed to find a way to get the agility stat.

Climbing trees and swinging from trees was also easier as his body could better adapt to moving through the air.

With all the revelations about his stats, Marcus knew it was time to test his new upgrades through battle.
