Chapter 3

The Linndon forge, one of the greatest forge ever to be established, not just in this country but the entire world. A family highly focused on forging and doing the job as a blacksmith perfectly. "Linndon forge.....The Linndon forge" *sigh* I sigh as I say its name. What a lucky man I am, to have born into this family of blacksmiths with such great knowledge and respect. Truly, I am lucky. I achieved a lot in my life and it's mostly all thanks to my family, the workers here, my friends and the forge. After completing the books of my great grandfather, I had achieved my goal of fully attaining my family's wisdom and skills, and now only one thing remains to be completed.

Say goodbye to this place and to this world.

Just like my parents, I am going to be vanishing from this world. I will be considered to be missing or even dead in this world and I think Her Majesty will be taking care of it probably. There's no other way, I need to fulfill my destiny. I have already made up my mind to take the path and there is no turning back once I've done it. The crystal will turn into the portal and will leave no trace of it after walking through the portal. It's a one time use object and it's only one way, from this world to another.

*Knock*knock* I was deep in my thoughts that I didn't notice Jack coming up to my office.

"Yeah. You can come in" I say and he closed the door behind as he got inside.

"You called me?"

"Take a seat Jack." He takes a seat as I requested. "Now, you have worked in this forge for more than I can remember. How many years has it been?"

"19 years, Mr.Linndon" He replies

"19 years and you still call me Mr.Linndon? You are allowed to call me Linndon, Jack" I laugh.

"Haha, sure Linndon. It just became a force of habit whenever I see you all formal. I don't know when any royal family members might arrive, you know? Don't want to ruin your image" He cracks some jokes and we laugh.

"You might already have an idea of why I have called you up here to my office, right?" I ask

"It is about your retirement isn't it?" He inquires.

"You are right on spot about that but I also want to go through some paperwork with you as I'll be assigning my job to you." I reply.

"Am I really worthy of it?" He asks.

"Look out there, Jack. Those are your coworkers, working hard and showing what they can do. They are flowing with talent and skills. It was a tough decision to make but the answer was already clear. You clearly are a great blacksmith and they will all agree and support that."

"Thanks Linndon, but I don't know..."

"Jack," I interrupt him, " I made this decision based on everything that I could think of. I want to leave this place in the right hands. That's exactly why I chose you. You are perfect for this job. And I know, that you will do a splendid job. Don't worry about making tough decisions because you will get through them easily, like a hot knife through butter." We laugh.

"So, what do you say Jack? Ready for this challenge?"

"Yeah. I think so." He smiles, "And thanks, for believing in me" We hug it out and shake hands. I take out the paperwork that needs to be done and I try to walk him through some of the processes that he might have to do when doing the job.

"So, that should do it. I'll take care of the rest. I still need to get that order done" I say to him.

"Then I will be out of the way. Thanks for everything again. I appreciate it." He closes the door behind him and he goes back to work.

"Phew, that was tiring." I am glad that he agreed. If he didn't, I would have to find another person again and I don't want to spend more time on that. I lean back on the chair. Jack is a nice guy, coolheaded and great at his work and I think he will do a pretty good job in running this place.

Now that's one thing out of the way. I still need to finish the details on the sword. Better get to it.

I get out of my chair, closing the door behind me, I walk down to the workplace. I change before getting to work, a proper workplace requires a proper workattire, I can't get the my suit dirty since I want to look good while delivering the order. It's kind of like a tradition. It is kind of expensive to get a order done from the members of my family so we like to have our customers experience the luxury of what they paid for and by the way, the normal orders are also delivered quite formally. The Linndon forge is quite the place and people love to order from us and we provide them with a splendid experience while ordering from us.

Anyway, I go to my workplace. I grab my tools from the shelf and start doing what I do best. I need to finish this sword into the most beautiful and strong sword anyone has ever laid their eyes upon. The work is simple due to the years of experience I've received. I really need to thank this place. Working like this really builds up quite a sweat. Even though it's cold outside, working here is like working on a hot summer day and we enjoy it. It's refreshing for both body and mind, I get to relax like this and I work for some time like this.

After a while, I have finally completed making the sword and I have got to say that, it is indeed one of the best weapons I have ever made in my life and I am quite proud of it. Now I have to prepare it for the delivery.
