In the bathroom, Anai'ya stood in front of the mirror staring at her reflection. Her eyes traveled from her neck down to her chest. There were numerous purple marks scattered all over. Some on her navel and even one peaked out at the entrance of her cave. Each one screaming 'traitor'.
How could she do this? Why did she let this happen? What was she thinking?!
And to think that she enjoyed it!
She was a traitor. A traitor to herself. She let this happen. She could have stopped it...but she didn't. She gave in.
Anai'ya was feeling a myriad of negative emotions: staring at those glaring marks, the satisfaction flowing through her body, and her swollen lips made her feel disgusted. The one thing she had protected for so long was now tainted with his scent, his touch, and his kiss. She had kept her flower clean of him and now that was over.
Immediately turning towards the shower she stepped in and turned up the hot water. She let the burning hot water flow down her body as she scrubbed herself until her skin was red and swollen. Scrubbing with such ferocity her skin could rip open. Washing away the scent of his lips from her body, not one spot he had touched was left alone.
Maybe if she scrubbed hard enough it would erase what just took place. Normally one would feel satisfaction and happiness; she did not. In the heat of the moment, she forgot her principles and her dignity. Laying them all down for a moment of pleasure. The only upside to this situation was that they didn't have full-on sex. That was her last line of defense she had for her body.
She must never give in. He had taken everything else from her but she could not let him have this. She may have fooled around with others before but she never went all the way. It was the most precious thing she had left. Not one of those men including Andre were deserving.
It was rare to find a woman her age who was technically still a virgin in this day and age. She wanted it to matter, she wanted to give it to a worthy man. Even if their story would end in tragedy because of who she is and her line of work, giving herself to someone who truly mattered was all she could hope for. Having nothing else as precious as her virginity left in this world to protect it made it worthwhile to hold out.
After a long hot shower and multiple scrubbing sessions, she stepped out of the bathroom in a white robe to find Andre waiting for her at the foot of her bed.
His eyes light up when he saw her, a smile found its way on his chiseled face.
"What do you want to eat?"
Anai'ya threw a glance at his smiling face and winced internally, choosing to ignore him she walked into her closet to change. Picking a white two-piece summer outfit and some strapped sandals in red she looked even younger than her age. Putting her long black hair into a simple ponytail and some gold hoop earrings in her ears she stepped out.
Andre was still in the same position from earlier only this time he wore black slim-fit jeans and a white t-shirt that showcased his strong arms with a simple gold watch and black sneakers.
'Where did he get the clothes from?' she wondered.
"Let's go. I want some Ben's Bagels." She said walking out of the room not sparing him a glance.
Andre frowned at the cold shoulder she was giving him. Shouldn't she be happier or shy at least? She seemed upset but he couldn't figure out why. He'll have to ask her on the way. Following her out of the apartment they waited for the elevator in silence. Only the sounds of the approaching elevator could be heard in the quiet hallway. His heart grew antsy as he peaked at her side profile from the corner of his eye.
While she was in the shower he was feeling ecstatic that they'd become more intimate than before, he finally felt closer to her. However, it seemed that the feeling wasn't mutual. Her eyes were cold, even her lips where hardened into a grimace.
'Did he not please her enough?'
'Was she expecting more?'
'Did he do it wrong?'
'Maybe it wasn't long enough?'
He pondered on the reason all the way down until they reached the garage. Growing irritated that he couldn't figure it out he stopped. Reaching out to grab her hand he whirled her around to face him.
"Babe, what's wrong? Are you angry at me?" He asked anxiety and confusion could be heard from his voice.
"Huh?" She blinked at him.
"Are you mad at me about earlier?" His asked again.
"No why?" She said tilting her head as curiosity filled her eyes.
"You seem upset. I thought you were mad at me. You won't even look at me." He complained, stepping closer to her wrapping his arms around her small waist.
Anai'ya laughed, her amber eyes flashed as she leaned on his chest. Burying her head deeper to feel his heartbeat.
"I'm not angry Andre, I'm just feeling a little shy. You know I've never done anything like this before." She mumbled against his chest.
"Really? You're not upset at all then?!"
"Of course not."
Andre chuckled and squeezed her tightly. He was relieved! He was truly afraid he'd made her upset which was the last thing he wanted. Her emotions and well being were the most important in his heart.
"Come then let's get you something to eat," he said walking her to the passenger seat opening the door for her like a true gentleman.
Anai'ya flashed him her sweetest smile before sitting down. He ducked inside and fastened her seat belt for her before closing the door and getting in the driver's seat. She watched his every move, she saw how careful and thoughtful he was being and it made her want to laugh. This man could go from extremely angry to happy and then anxious and caring in one sitting. Just last night he was raging and ready to destroy anything in his path but here he was early morning being a kind thoughtful gentleman. It was such a joke.
She turned to look out the window watching the buildings come and go. It seemed like it was only going to get harder to deal with him in the coming weeks, his temper would be on the rise and her body on the receiving end of it. However, she felt like it was worth it. She could sacrifice her body to achieve her goal.
It was all she could think about. Her mind was consumed with vengeance. Day in and day out her mind was constantly thinking of revenge. It had become her obsession, her anchor to life. She didn't have much to live for anyway. Her brother was safe and living his life with the love of his life, her parents were dead, her friends were happy and her company was doing fine. She was the only one who felt like every day was a drag, just another day to plan, to scheme. She didn't know what would happen after it was all said and done, she just knew that for now, this gave her life purpose. A reason to get up every morning.
She was truly pitiful if you think about it.
