Dragging her exhausted body to the underground garage Anai'ya sighed for the tenth time. She felt extremely pathetic. She was dreading going home, her once calm and relaxing home was now filled with heavy awkwardness and tension. Her haven was now hell but she couldn't bring herself to ask her guest to leave.
The small masochist side of her preferred to have him around. Something was better than nothing right? She laughed bitterly as she sped out of the parking lot. The high and mighty Anai'ya DeMari was so pitiful.

Across town, two men sat facing each other with a poker table in between them. One was tall and regal like a King while the other was dark and handsome with a devilish charm. Both men had imposing auras making the poor dealer sweat under his uniform.
"Where are you staying Damien?" Andre asked casually glancing at his cards.
"Is that a cause for concern?" Damien asked back. His expression remained placid revealing nothing.
Andre's eye twitched at the retort. One thing he hated the most about this man was his attitude and lack of respect towards him.
"Merely curious. You didn't ask for accommodations in our agreement." Andre said placing a bet. His dark eyes scrutinized Damien's reaction. Somehow he felt like the man was hiding something from him. That nagging feeling only grew the more they talked.
Damien scoffed in his mind. Why would he need help with accommodations when he had Anai'ya taking care of them? Of course, this wasn't something he would disclose to this overly possessive maniac.
"There's no need." He replied raising the bet by ten thousand. He was provoking Andre at this point.
"Well in any case whatever you need just ask. The job will take some time I would prefer it if you weren't distracted by anything." Andre said placing his cards down. A smug smile made its way onto his cold face.
"Straight flush huh?" Damien smirked before carefully laying down his cards. He watched as Andre's face went from red to green and back again. His face looked darker than the underside of a pot.
'Royal flush. This fucking bastard,' Andre thought bitterly.
"Seems like the title of champion still belongs to me," Damien said chuckling as he reached over to move the chips to his side.
"..." Andre couldn't bother responding at this point. He was angry and embarrassed. Losing to this man again did nothing for his pride. He had lost all face.
Damien didn't even try hiding the mockery in his eyes. Being able to deal small blows to the enemy improved his gloomy mood. The past couple of days had been weighing on his heart. This was his release. However, this small reprieve would vanish very soon.
They started up another round. The stakes were high and their blood was rushing to their heads. The room was filled with smoke from their cigars.
Damien won again making Andre's face so dark it sent shivers down their dealer's back. The poor dealer was so stressed he couldn't wait to escape.
Andre was beyond angry now. No matter the move he pulled Damien always one-upped him. His luck was terrible tonight he was close to losing his calm. But then his phone blinked indicating a text message came in. He picked it up and a small smile crept upon his face making him look much gentler than usual. He responded with haste grinning widely.
The gloomy expression on his face had vanished immediately, the change was so drastic it was hard to miss.
Damien already knew who could make this evil man smile like a fool. He clenched his hands as his eyes darkened. He won the game but, life was cruel always reminding him that he was still the loser in the end. He was the champion of losses.
