Interruption

Damien's face darkened at the thought of Anai'ya's text. She had been avoiding him these past couple of days, coming home past midnight since he arrived. She avoided him like a plague.

However, she would prefer to ignore him and talk to Andre-whom she hated. Was that not a slap in the face? Thus he downed glass after glass of whiskey hoping to forget his sorrows even for just a moment.

"What's your problem?" Andre asked as he watched him drink the whiskey like water. He could see the conflicted emotions in the man's eyes and it made him curious.

"Rough week." Damien burped with glassy eyes. He was leaning back in his seat with his leg crossed over the other. His posture was rogue and relaxed.

Raising his eyebrows at the man's response Andre decided not to intrude on his matters so he dropped the subject. It was none of his business anyway.

"Mmm. I hear that.." Andre replied.

The room drifted off into silence as both men focused on drinking. Neither one of them made an attempt at conversation. They weren't really friends anyway so why pretend?

Suddenly the door swung open, it startled them making both men look up simultaneously. Both men immediately stood up with glowing eyes.

They saw the woman they both loved standing at the door and their faces changed. Neither men realizing the reaction of the other they both stared at her with deep love in their eyes.

"Am I interrupting?" Anai 'ya asked sweetly closing the door behind her. Her graceful figure swayed from side to side as she made her way over to them.

She wore a thin turtleneck sweater in light pink tucked into a black skirt that reached a few inches above her knee with a slit on the side exposing her smooth thigh. She had on a pair of strappy sandals revealing her pretty toes that were painted the color of her sweater. It was simple but elegant with a hint of sexy.

Damien sucked in his breath at how beautiful she looked. His eyes were already glazed from the alcohol and looking at such a gorgeous scene made them cloud over even more. He suppressed the urge to go to her and wrap his arms around her. He could only bitterly watch as Andre reached over to do exactly that.

It was torture seeing the man hug and kiss the woman he loved. It pained him to only be able to watch as someone else claimed what he had coveted for so long.

The envy in his heart was threatening to show it's ugly head as he watched them hug. Swallowing the bitter taste in his mouth he sat back down reaching for another glass of whiskey.

"Babe, you remember Damien?" Andre said pulling a chair out for her. He was beyond ecstatic that she was here he immediately began to serve her a glass of wine.

"Of course. Long time no see Damien." She greeted him offering him a polite smile.

"Yeah, long time," Damien said wryly. He didn't even bother looking up from his glass. The coldness radiating off his body was an indicator that he didn't wish to speak to her.

Anai'ya grimaced inwardly at his response. She hid the sadness in her eyes as she accepted the glass of wine Andre offered her. She shifting her eyes to Andre and flashed him a sweet smile. Andre grinned back before placing his large hand on her thigh.

The coldness of his touch made her shiver. She could feel him rubbing his calloused fingers on the exposed skin on her leg. His eyes were fixed on her not leaving her for a second. She could see how happy he was to see her. She had to admit that although she hated his guts it was still a nice feeling to know she was wanted.
