Players and Mobs

After easing up the pressure encircling the church, both Ryan and Ricardo began to perform ridiculous high fives along with stupid dances. They both seemed to be having fun while everyone else was left puzzled and on edge. The war veteran took off his concealment gear, revealing a young man in his mid-20s. He had brown hair, dark eyes above a wide nose, and a very broad chest.

The man questioned why Carl and Ricardo were having so much trouble against basic zombies but was baffled when the two described the creature's raw power. His perplexion grew as they continued their story and he was in turmoil.

However, it all cleared up for Ryan when they reached the part when the undead powered up.

"I see, the creature was an undead player. A player who had been turned into a zombie. Depending on who was turned, it could either be weaker or more dangerous than villager zombies. When submerged for a static duration, this mob undergoes metamorphosis and transforms into a Drowned." Ryan thoroughly explained.

The Drowned was an alarming mob because, in addition to outclassing players' bodies by a huge margin, it also had camouflage combined with elemental sorcery that rivaled one of the elite ten. Two species of Drowned had been established so far which are the Originals and the Unoriginals. The first type only appears in 'The Great Abyss' on the outskirts of Minecraft and several specific conditions have to match. As for the latter, just drown a zombie then voila, you get a lesser Drowned that can't even swim.

Ryan then asked if they paid any attention to the creature's appearance. The only distinctive feature was its short and blond hair. Upon thinking over it, Ryan's tears suddenly dripped down slowly.

"I was only human..... I couldn't rescue you kid... Villager King..... unforgivable" he slammed his fist at the pillars of Nigel's church with so much force that it cracked inwards until it almost broke.

Ryan asked if the two would journey West with him so they can join a camp where they would be able to learn more about survival in this harsh world. Carl and Ricardo agreed on one condition which was a set of gear so they can actually fight back when in a pickle.

Carl equipped a set of chain mail armor and held a stone sword while Ricardo dressed in full leather using lilacs to dye the gear pink.

Before leaving, Nigel offered his hand to the three, signaling that he wanted to give them a quest of sorts.

"Considering you a crippled priest, the second quest is really ironic lul," Ricardo giggled.

The three adventurers started repairing each run-down houses one by one using the abundance of wood from Carl and Ricardo's previous outing. They plugged the walls of each building and every family was given a roof to shelter beneath.

As they worked, Ryan told them more and more about mob power levels so they can better prepare themselves if they choose to go aggro against a specific mob. There were two main points to keep track of: Flight Mobs and Bosses were dangerous therefore shouldn't be fought alone. Some Mobs can join forces or even create new ones.

Somewhere along the lines of explanation, Ryan mentioned a dark-winged amalgamation dubbed 'Night Fury'. This beast wasn't a boss but easily overpowered the elite ten. To emphasize his point, Ryan reported that the Night Fury took out half of the members in the blink of an eye and gave the remaining five a hard time. The survivors ran off in different directions and one of them would act like a lamb tied to the slaughter.

Finishing their task, the trio bid the village farewell and set off on their voyage. Everyone thanked and cheered the three while offering rations in case something were to happen on the journey.

The road was quite rocky but not confusing since they only had to go hard West which means only one direction was viable.

Ryan told Carl and Rick to get used to reading maps and compasses because it really helps in the long run. Unaware of the two's educational background, Ryan painstakingly laid out a map of Minecraft and started blabbering about stuff they already knew. However, familiarity with the environment was the sole reason why the lecture took so long.

They pathed across a forest with trees tall enough to block the sun. The only drawback to this was monsters spawned quickly flooded the area and they had to stealth all the way until the dusk settled. Ricardo wanted them to take turns watching while letting the others rest up. The pro player notified that players as a species don't require sleep. Sleep was more of an unaffordable luxury.

As the trio hopped from tree to tree in order to avoid confrontation, Ricardo became so bored that he started whistling in an annoying way. While Carl didn't pay too much attention, the whistling tilted Ryan so much so that he had to plug his ears with leaves.

They finally arrived at the aforementioned camp at daybreak. The exhausted group asked the villagers if there was any place to sit and clear their heads.

As opposed to the village where they came from, the camp only had tents and each person seemed more energetic. Carl and Ricardo were crowded with curious warriors who wanted to learn about the prophesied players.

"Woah, it's been a while since we saw another player besides the grandmaster." uttered a voice

"Yo yo, lettem rest up. How do we know this ain't rude for them?" spoke another.

Although players did not need sleep, the two players immediately dozed off when they sat down.
