Chapter 19

I woke up the morning feeling like I spent the previous night carrying big logs of wood. I went to the bathroom and turned on the tap, I poured my special papaya and rose scent bubble bath into the hot water. I took off my robe and stepped in. I spent almost thirty minutes in the tub carefully washing my hair. I woke about an hour early so I had plenty of time to get ready.

I had that irresistible feeling to look really pretty today. I can't help it but I think what Angie said about Simon is really getting into my head. I mean how would it be to look cool, talk cool, be cool and hang and with cool people. I dried my hair and brush it until it was so smooth then I attached very fancily rose ribbon I got from Paris two years ago. I ironed my uniform again despite having ironed it before.

When I was done with dressing up, I looked myself up in the mirror. I was a five-foot plus girl with chestnut brown hair swinging over my shoulders and was wearing a white shirt, blue skirt and blazers, neat stockings that went all the way above my knee and a black leather ankles boots with drop-dead heels.

Of course, this is not my usual appearance but seeing Kim react like that yesterday made me realize I have power too. She ain't the only one who deserves to be Queen.

I look really pretty but something is missing. I walked to my closet and picked up my makeup kit. I have every kind of makeup you could imagine, it's just that I don't usually use them especially since I left Allentown but today I am going to make a change in my appearance. I applied my peach-coloured lip gloss and mascara.

"Oh my God, I look like a Diva". I said to myself.

I walked out of my room and into a new life.

"Good morning"Simon was making breakfast.

"Good morning big brother. How was your night?"

"Splendid".

"And the headache, is it gone?".

"Sit down and eat your food".

I smiled.

"You know you shouldn't have avoided my friends like that yesterday".

"Again sit down and eat". He said firmly this time.

"Where are you when I need you. You know being a responsible elder stepbrother does not include being hostile to your sister and her friends. We could really need some help to mess with Kim"

"Kim is not someone you can mess with. Please stay away from the McAllister's generally".

Wait a minute, did he just say McAllister?

Not that it matters though, principal McAllister herself said she has been teaching for many years so Simon probably knows her.

"Whatever," I said to avoid further discussion.

Simon dropped me off at school after breakfast.

"Don't call me to come and pick you up from school if you will be going out with your friends after school. Please you do not want to see my dark side".

"Oh you have one" I said sarcastically.

Simon smiled. I alighted and went into the building to start a new beginning and make a ' new first impression' if possible.

As I walked in, I saw a lot of students reading something on the notice board and some was passing a sheet of paper to each other and smiling.

"I don't have time for high school gossip. I have got better things to do". I thought.

I walked further and a lot of students were laughing at me. I had a weird feeling about what was happening. I ran to the class and right on the door in front of me I saw my handwriting staring right back at me. It was a photocopy of what I wrote in my diary about Señor Singer. I screamed and the door flew open.

Monica was the one who opened the door and Kim was smiling at me.

"You!"I shouted and rushed at her.

We started fighting and she grabbed my hair. Aghn! it hurts. If something bad came out of looking good, it was wearing my hair down. We dragged and pulled for about a minute before throwing each other to the ground. It was intense. I had never fought before and I hated myself for stooping so low to fight with someone like Kim.

"What is going on here". It was Principal McAllister.

Oh no!
