Chapter 12 - Realization

---------------Ken POV

(Afternoon)

I was ready to test out my new bloodline abilities with the draconic blood added to them.

As usual, Ying'er and I went to the mountain ranges to test out my new and improved abilities. I looked for some profound beasts to test out my bloodline abilities.

The beasts had to be at least Earth Profound Realm otherwise it will feel too easy and the effect won't be as obvious.

After finding an Earth Realm Griffin, I walked out of the jungle and into the clearing. Ying'er just flew in the sky, ready to intervene should anything happen to me.

'Susanoo', I whispered in my mind. 8 large black bones surrounded me, forming a ribcage around me. Before the dragon blood, the bones were just normal, nothing outstanding besides their impressive defensive ability.

But now, after the dragon blood, glimmering black scales covered the bones, most likely further increasing their defensive ability. There was also draconic energy leaking out from the bones, making the bones appear more formidable and had a dragon's pride in them.

The dragon's pride aura had an intimidating aura, the griffin reacted drastically by flapping its wings and screaming fearfully, when it felt the aura of the dragon's pride.

It appeared that the dragon's pride frightened other beasts that were not at the top of the food chain, but it was negated by the griffin eventually, it seemed that the further the difference in cultivation, the lower the effect is.

The griffin shook off the dragon's pride and launched itself towards me. It's talon tearing into the Susanoo but much to its dismay. The ribcage was completely unharmed, not even a single scratch was on it.

The griffin growled in anger and continually tried to use its talons to break the ribcage.

Eventually, a small scratch had appeared, but it was healed immediately by my profound energy.

This time, the griffin knew that I was definitely not its match, it shrieked out in fear then flapped its wings and flew away.

I just stood there grinning the whole time, having absolute defence and the helplessness of the opponent felt great.

"Ying'er, try putting out a very small beam of energy towards my ribcage." I yelled and preparing myself for the incoming attack.

She nodded her head, and a very small beam of energy blasted towards, although the size was small, it was still the energy from a divine master, definitely not to be underestimated.

The energy made a large hole in my Susanoo and was about to pierce before it dissipated.

I wiped the sweat from my forehead, that was way too close I thought.

Instead of looking happy, Ying'er looked angrily at me. "Your lucky that I managed to erase that beam of energy otherwise that may have killed you.'

I hung my head in disappointment at my cockiness, but Ying'er patted my head and said, "It's ok, as long as you know in the future to never underestimate your opponent, no matter how small they are."

I nodded my head quickly, eager to prove that I had learnt my lesson.

Ying'er laughed at my eagerness and told me, "Continue to practice your new abilities," she said with a smile before flying back up into the sky.

We looked around for another suitable beast that was Earth realm or higher.

Finding another griffin in the woods, I approached it slowly.

'Amaterasu', black flame jetted out from my right eye and flew towards the griffin. As if sensing danger, the griffin swivelled its head around, looking in caution.

The major difference that had occurred in Amaterasu was that instead of being a lump of fire, it was shaped like a dragon and had dark purple energy streaks within it, presumably draconic energy.

Compared to before where the Amaterasu was like a slow black hole, now it has become a black hole that teleports towards its victims, devouring anything in its path.

The Amaterasu landed on the griffin's right wing, in mere seconds the whole wing was gone and now the rest of eating into the rest of its body.

The griffin howled in pain and fear at the unknown flame that was killing it. After 10 seconds or so, the griffin was completely erased from existence.

The tomoes in my Rinne-Sharingan were spinning rapidly, ready to create more Amaterasu if I willed it.

I looked away from the ashes of the griffin to Ying'er in the sky. I made a come here gesture with my hands to Ying'er.

She flew down with her robes and hair fluttering, looking like a golden goddess.

'Kamui', I pulled her into my arms, and we reappeared back in the courtyard where Yue'er for some reason, looked like she was waiting for me.

She cried out when she saw me, "Ken! You're back."

I turned around and smiled when I saw Yue'er.

"Ken, do you mind if we go somewhere private to talk?" Yue'er nervously asked while she twiddled her thumbs in anxiousness.

"Sure," I put a serious look on after hearing her nervous question.

She took me to her private room while Ying'er gave us a suspicious look as we left.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" I asked while closing the door behind her.

She looked down nervously and said, "It's about my marriage, I've decided that I no longer want to be forced into a marriage with no love and my dad has agreed."

Hearing this good news, I gave her a big hug and she just smiled in my embrace.

We stayed in this position for a few minutes before Yue'er spoke while stuttering, "N-now I'm no l-longer t-taken." She spoke with a tomato red face.

I breathed into her ear, "What does that mean?" I teased while her face turned into an even darker shade of red.

She softly pounded my chest in embarrassment and said, "You bully, that means I'm single."

"But are you ready to mingle?" I joked with a teasing smile.

Yue'er unexpectedly put on a look of seriousness and looked into my eyes, "I'm still not sure about my feelings."

I whispered softly, "It's alright, we should deepen our feelings toward each other first," in all seriousness.

She smiled softly and nodded her head.

I walked out of her room and saw her Ying'er and Xi'er looking at me suspiciously.

"What?" I asked in confusion, not understanding why they looked at me like that.

Upon hearing me, they narrowed their eyes further, unsure of what to think yet. They knew, I had a personality of a playboy, even if it is unintentional.

"Keep your flirtatious words and actions to us," Ying'er said in jealously.

If I were an anime character, I would have questions marks over my head, that's how confused I am.

I tilted my head in confusion, not sure on how to respond to their Ying'ers confusing statement.

"Ok?" I answered despite not knowing what they meant.

They seemed satisfied with my half-hearted reply although albeit reluctantly.

"What are you talking about?" I questioned them because I didn't know what they meant.

They both Humphed and refused to answer me, this left me bewildered.

I didn't want to leave them angry, so I tried pleasing them with extra hard training.

But this made them angrier, so I decided to consult someone. I had made friends with the maids of the Xia manor over the years I had stayed here.

"Gong Ming, do you know why Xi'er and Ying'er are angry at me?" I ran up to Gong Ming who was currently sweeping the courtyard clean.

She looked up, surprised that I asked her. "Well, can you explain what happened?"

I explained to her what had happened to Xi'er and Ying'er and what happened 20m before they got angry at me.

She sighed in mock anger, while muttering men. This made me even more confused.

"For starters, you should understand that women are jealous people and maybe Xi'er and Ying'er were insecure about there position in your heart." She explained slowly to me while I listened carefully and nodded my head at times.

"So, I should make sure they will always have a position in my heart," I said as realization dawned on me and put my left hand into my right palm.

She smiled at my realization and said good luck.

I thanked her profusely then ran off to go see Xi'er first.
