Chapter 9 Geria

"Stay awake" Seraphina, heard a voice in her head. "You must stay awake" It said again. From all the running and climbing onto blizzards back she had opened her sutures causing her to bleed out more. "I'm so tired," Seraphina whispered weakly. "You're almost there!" Said the voice "just a little longer" it added. But she had lost too much blood. She bled so much that some of her blood had even ended up on blizzard.

At this point it had become a fight, a fight to stay awake, a fight to keep her eyes open, a fight to live. Suddenly she felt blizzard begin to descend from the sky. Finally, She thought as she felt blizzard land. "Dragons!" A guard shouted. Within only a minute the queen of Geria along with her guest were in the courtyard. "My... I didn't expect to see a dragon" the 23 year old man with black hair, blue eyes and a scruffy beard said.

"Nor did I," said Lillian, the queen of Geria. She walked closer to the dragons and that was when she saw it. "Bring the physician quickly," said the queen. "Perhaps a priest as well," she added. "What is it?" asked the man as he walked to where Lillian was.

"I apologize, Prince Daniel, but I'm afraid we must continue our discussion, at a later time" said Lillian. "Of course your majesty, I understand" he told her with a bow before walking off. "What is going on?" A young white haired woman, with red eyes, asked as she approached him. "I thought Sengrid was the only place with dragons?" She questioned. "It appears Princess Seraphina of the United Empire has graced us with her presence Luna" he said as he turned to look as knights were carefully taking her off blizzard. "The Princess?" Luna questioned looking past Daniel. "My... she looks pretty badly injured," Luna said. "I wonder what could have happened?" She questioned. "I'm not sure," Daniel said, turning to Luna. "But considering the princess fled here covered in blood with 3 dragons, I doubt anything good" he said

"Seraphina!" Lillian said worried as they put her on a stretcher. But Sera couldn't hear her, as soon as blizzard landed she closed her eyes, and fell unconscious.

Hours passed. Seraphina was taken to a room where the physician could take care of her, and Lillian paced back and forth outside the room as she waited to hear the news of her great granddaughter's condition. That was when the door to the room opened. "How is she?" Lillian asked. "I have resutured her wound, since the priest was unable to heal her. It will take some time, but I have left some healing potions which seem to help, I estimate at least 2 weeks of recovery time if the potions continue to do their job" he said. "Thank you" Lillian said with a bow of her head. The physician bowed and walked off.

Lillian entered the room and sat in the chair beside the bed, and lightly held Seras hand. "What has happened to you dear child?" Lillian whispered. "Great... grand...mother?" Serphina said weakly. She was laid on her stomach as the injury was on her back.

"I'm here child" Lillian said as she gripped Seras hand tighter. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your banquet my dear if I had..." "no" Seraphina said. "If you had you would be under his control too" she told her. "Who's control?" Lillian asked. "What has happened?" She once more. "The... Arch.... mage" Sera said before she fell unconscious again.

Lillian let out a deep shaky breath as she stood up. As she made her way back to her office she ran into Daniel. "Your majesty..." Daniel said, surprised to see her. "Prince Daniel I'm sorry I'm afraid I was so caught up in my own thoughts I had not seen you" Lillian said. "That's quite alright your majesty, how is her highness the Princess?" Daniel asked. "I only saw a glimpse of her but her injury seemed serious," he said.

"She'll live," said Lillian. "By chance prince Daniel do you know anything of the arch mage?" Lillian asked. "The archmage?" Daniel questioned. "Yes the magic tower is located in Daners is it not?" Lillian asked. "It is," he told her. "What would you like to know?" He asked. "Anything you can tell me of him" she said.

When Sera opened her eyes again the sun was shining high in the sky. The pain that once flooded through her body was still there, but much more bearable than before. Seraphina slowly stood up from the bed and walked to the window where she saw the baby dragon Eris, along with Flare, Blizzard, and Storm sleeping.

Suddenly the door to her room opened, a maid with a tray of medical supplies walked in, and as Seraphina turned to look at her, the maid dropped the tray and screamed. "SHE'S AWAKE THE PRINCESS IS AWAKE" as she ran out of the room.

More maids quickly flooded the room and before seraphina could realize what was happening she was back sitting on the bed with a physician checking her condition, a room full of maids, Lillian along with Prince Daniel and Luna.

"How are you feeling?" Asked the physician. "Better, still a lot of pain in my back" seraphina answered. "May I ask how did you get the collar off? It was still on me when I came if I remember right" she said as she felt her neck. "That was all me Princess" Daniel said walking in front of Sera. "Your... the Prince of Daners... Daniel, are you not?" She asked. "That I am Princess. I apologize for the late greeting, but considering your condition upon arrival, I pray you'll forgive me" he said with a bow. "Don't apologize, I am the one who showed up unannounced," Sera replied.

"Now that you're awake, do tell us what happened," Lillian said. "Your sudden arrival a week ago had everyone shocked" she added. "Wait a week ago?" Seraphina questioned. "Yes your highness" said the physician, "you arrived a week ago and have been in and out of consciousness for the past 8 days" he continued.
